1901-06-20 - "George Emerick, who has been seriously indisposed for some time by an inward gathering, went to the Olney sanitarium Friday, and Monday was operated on, the disease being pronounced chronic appendicitis and so far advanced that his life would have soon ended. At last account he was doing well.
1901-09-19 - "Geo. W. Emerick shipped a car load of peaches last week, and he and Frank Griggs ship another car load this week. Both men have several hundred bushels apiece, and their orchards are a pretty sight this time of year."

January 4, 1904 - "DROPPED DEAD. Montana Pioneer Meets Sudden End Near Dillon. (Special to the Herald). Dillon, Mont., Jan. 3 -- G.W. Emerick, one of the oldest residents in this county, who has made his home in section ever since the discovery of gold in Grasshopper gulch, dropped dead this morning of heart disease at his ranch, a few miles from town. He had left the house to pump a bucket of water, and a few minutes afterwards his two sons found him dead beside the pump. He was 76 years old and quite wealthy. Two sons and his wife survive him. He was a member of the Pioneer society of Montana.".

May 22, 1898 - "Warren Emerick dropped dead yesterday morning at his farm on the bench five miles from the city. He was walking about his barn when he fell, and when found life was extinct. Heart failure was the cause. The deceased was 80 years of age. He was a brother of J.C. Emerick of Boise, the well known sheepman."
May 23, 1898 - "WARREN EMERICK'S FUNERAL. Warren Emerick, who died suddenly from heart trouble Saturday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. C.B. Lee, was buried yesterday afternoon. A large concourse of carriages followed his remains from the home of Mr. Lee to No. 45 school house where appropriate exercises were conducted by Rev. E.W. Murphy, interment being at Morris Hill cemetery. A beautiful floral wreath was laid on his coffin by the Sunday school of Five-Mile school house, whose superintendent he had been for several years.".
