From the Idaho Daily Statesman.

May 22, 1898 - "Warren Emerick dropped dead yesterday morning at his farm on the bench five miles from the city. He was walking about his barn when he fell, and when found life was extinct. Heart failure was the cause. The deceased was 80 years of age. He was a brother of J.C. Emerick of Boise, the well known sheepman."

May 23, 1898 - "WARREN EMERICK'S FUNERAL. Warren Emerick, who died suddenly from heart trouble Saturday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. C.B. Lee, was buried yesterday afternoon. A large concourse of carriages followed his remains from the home of Mr. Lee to No. 45 school house where appropriate exercises were conducted by Rev. E.W. Murphy, interment being at Morris Hill cemetery. A beautiful floral wreath was laid on his coffin by the Sunday school of Five-Mile school house, whose superintendent he had been for several years.".
