1900-09-06 - "Mesdammes Jacob Brian, Ed Emerick and Harvey Trueblood returned Wednesday from their visit with relatives in Washington and Idaho."

1901-05-16 - "Ed Emerick has sold his farm of 215 acres just east of town for $35/acre, giving possession in 30 days. Mr. E. talks some of moving to California, we are informed. Oscar Fyffe is the purchaser."

1901-06-11 - "On Tuesday afternoon, Mr. J. Ed Emerick removed with this family to Oklahoma City, where they will reside for the present. Mr. Emerick expects to locate on a desirable ranch and make a specialty of cattle-raising. While the Press is sorry to lose such citizens as Mr. Emerick from Lawrence county, we trust he may be prospered in the change."

1901-06-20 - "Dr. Hockman and Ed Emerick were in Olney Monday."

1901-06-27 - "Ed Emerick went to Olney Friday to visit his brother George in the sanitarium at that city."

1902-03-27 - "J.H. Trueblood, of Bowyer, who was in town Friday, informed us that recent letters received from the family of Ed Emerick, who removed from here to Pomona, Cal., stated they were not satisfied with California and had gone to Cottonwood, Idaho, where Geo. W. Petty, Mrs. Emerick's father, resides, and that they would remain there. Mrs. Emerick was so unfortunate lately as to fall and break her hip, which her many friends here will regret to learn."

1903-04-03 - "Ed Emerick has returned from the west satisfied that old Lawrence, taking everything into consideration, is a good a place as he knows of and has bought of Albert Lathrop and Chas. Scomp the Clubb farm of 200 acres for $6400. His family will return some time next month.".

May 22, 1898 - "Warren Emerick dropped dead yesterday morning at his farm on the bench five miles from the city. He was walking about his barn when he fell, and when found life was extinct. Heart failure was the cause. The deceased was 80 years of age. He was a brother of J.C. Emerick of Boise, the well known sheepman."

May 23, 1898 - "WARREN EMERICK'S FUNERAL. Warren Emerick, who died suddenly from heart trouble Saturday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. C.B. Lee, was buried yesterday afternoon. A large concourse of carriages followed his remains from the home of Mr. Lee to No. 45 school house where appropriate exercises were conducted by Rev. E.W. Murphy, interment being at Morris Hill cemetery. A beautiful floral wreath was laid on his coffin by the Sunday school of Five-Mile school house, whose superintendent he had been for several years.".
