The obit of Alice Sarah Saunders reported that her brother, George Montie Saunders, died November 1, 1930. The death certificate for George confirms this and also tells us that he was born March 17, 1857 in Marion, MI. He is shown here as Montie George Saunders. Find-A-Grave, however, reports that he was George Montford Saunders and was born March 7. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Howell.

August 1, 1894 - "Edward F. Saunders, of Marion, aged 79 years, died at his home in that township on Sunday last. He was one of the pioneer settlers of this county, having lived in the township of Marion for upwards of 40 years, and had an extended acquaintance throughout the county. He leaves a widow and a family of five grown up children. The funeral was held yesterday and the remains were laid to rest in the Lake cemetery.".
