August 4, 1985 - "Eleanor Johnson Weds an Author.
Eleanor Lee Johnson, a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Alan Johnosn of New York and Gay Head, Mass., was married yesterday to Samuel Peabody Osborne, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederik R.L. Osborne of Auburn, N.Y., and Pointe au Pic, Quebec. The Rev. M. Dennis Lee preformed the Episcopal ceremony at the Foster Memorial Chapel at Casowasco Conference Center in Scipio, N.Y.
The bride, a freelance editor in Cambridge, Mass., graduated from St. Paul's School in Concord, N.H., and Wesleyan University. Her father is a professor of medicine at the New York University School of Medicine.
Mr. Osborne, a graduate of the Holderness School and St. Lawrence University, is studying for an M.B.A. at Northwestern University. He is the author of "The Cross-Country Skier's Handbook," which is to be published in October by Charles Scribner's Sons. His father is president of Auburn Cablevision. The bridegroom is a grandson of the late Lithgow Osborne, United States Ambassador to Norway in the Roosevelt and Truman Administrations, before which he was New York State Conservation Commissioner for 10 years.".
