December 29, 1909 - "The remains of the late Mrs. John E. Bacon, who died at Tombstone, Arizona, on Dec. 17, arrived here last Thursday evening. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. A.C. Shaw, D.D., officiating; burial in the Wellsboro cemetery. Among the friends and relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs E.J. Metzger, of New York, Mr. and Mrs. John R. James, of Pittsburg; Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Smith, of Jersey Shore; Mrs. R.C. Bailey and Mrs. F.F. Vale, of Elmira; Mrs. John S. Ryon, of Elkland; Miss Estelle R?on, of Lawrenceville, and Mrs. Clark Ingraham, of Elmira.".
