August Frederick Seested, or August Seested (1864-1928), former president of the Kansas City Star and vice-president of the Convention Hall Building Company. Native of Denmark coming to Kansas City in 1880 as a building contractor and member of the Kansas City Star in 1881, becoming manager of the paper in 1902, a leader of the Red Cross during World War I here, and president of the paper in 1927.
