"Despite the efforts of my parents, as a toddler I would never address my grandfather by any name. I called my grandmother (Connie) "Grammer" and later shortened it to "Gram". During one visit, Gram called out' "Jack, its time to come in for dinner." I promptly repeated, "Yeah Jack, come in for dinner". I continued addressing my grandfather as Jack. My mom didn't like me calling my grandfather by his first name, so she kept trying to have me call him grandpa - but I wouldn't. Then one day we reached a compromise - Grandpa Jack..".

"Wright, Jack H. 7471 Ironwood Dr., Swartz Creek age 54, died Thursday, June 13, 1974 at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Monday from the Benjamin and Whipple Funeral Home, Clio. Rev. Lewis P. Compton, officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 P.M. Sunday, under the auspices of Flint Lodge No. 23 F&AM. He was born in Flint, January 11, 1920, the son of Oliver and Blanche Wright. Mr. Wright had resided in Swartz Creek 3 years moving there from Flint. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Flint. He was a member of Flint Lodge #23 F&AM. Member of Bay City Consistory. Member of Elf Khurafeh Shrine. He was employed as a salesman at the American Body Company.".
