May 20, 1970 - "Floyd A. Nourse, 61, of 1716 State Fair Blvd., Town of Van Buren, was badly burned early this morning while rescuing his wife from their flaming home.
Nourse was listed in serious condition at St. Joseph's Hospital burn unit, where a hospital spokesman said he was being treated for first degree burns of the face and head and third degree burns of the arms and knees.
Nourse's wife, Lavena, 52 was being treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire extensively damaged the Nourse home, fire officials said.
Fire Fighters from Lakeside Fire Department battled the blaze as Solvay Fire Department stood by.
Baldwinsville ambulance transported the victims to the hospital."
