October 26, 1951 - "Arvin Bailey, 11 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bailey, 100 Baldwin road is fighting for his life at Pontiac General Hospital. He fell from a barn hayloft on Thursday, Oct. 18.
Last report from the hospital is that Arvin is in critical condition. He still remains unconscious but is showing signs of improvement. The doctor states that he is holding his own but is suffering with a serious fracture of the skull, a broken leg and a broken shoulder blade.
According to his parents, Arvin was playing in the barn on the Lassiter farm with two other children when the accident occurred."

November 16, 1951 - "An 11 year old Orion township boy is still unconscious after four weeks, Pontiac General hospital reported today.
Arvin Bailey, 120 Baldwin rd., fell from the hayloft of a barn on his parents farm Oct. 18 while playing with two other children. He is suffering from fractures of skull, right leg and shoulder blade.
Hospital authorities said Arvin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bailey is still in critical condition."

December 28, 1951 - "An Orion township boy, who was critically injured when he fell from a hayloft Oct. 18 on a neighbors farm has regained his voice, Pontiac General hospital reported. He still cannot see.
Arvin Bailey, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Bailey of Baldwin road, was unconscious for more than a month, suffering from fractures of skull, shoulders and leg. Until this week he had not made a sound. Arvin was playing with two other children none weeks ago when he fell from the second floor of a barn next to his parents farm. Since that time, his condition has improved steadily, although doctors gave him little chance to live."

January 25, 1952 - "Arvin Bailey, who was seriously injured in a fall from the hayloft in a barn in Octoberm, is now convalescing at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Jessie Bailey. Arvi has partially recovered thge sight of his eyes and for those who wish to mail him cards they will reach him at: 10 Baldwin road, Rt. 1, Clarkston."

July 29, 1954 - "Bailey of Baldwin rd., is home from the Blind School in Lansing for the summer."

September 15, 1944 - "Pvt. Charles R. Bailey, who has been stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, arrived last Wednesday for a short foulough. He will return to his duties Sunday and be stationed in Texas."

August 3, 1961 - "Military graveside services were held for Charles R. Bailey, 43, a World War II veteran who died in the Ann Arbor Veterans Hospital on Tuesday, July 25.
He lived at 0 S. Baldwin Rd., and had been a resident of Orion Township for 42 years.
Born in Alcona County, Mich., he was the son of Ben and Jessie Whipple Bailey. He attended Block school in Orion Township.
He was employed as a truck driver at General Motors Truck & Coach.
Mr. Bailey served with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy and received the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater with two bronze battle scars, one service overseas bar, a good conduct medal and a bronze star medal.
He is survived by a son, Charles Arvin; his mother, Mrs. Jessie Bailey; three brothers, Lee W. of Orion Township, Kenneth W. of Pontiac Township, and Wilbur Dr., of Clarkston; and two sisters, Mrs. Harlan French of Oxford and Mrs. Wilbur Herst of Brighton.
Services were held at Allen's Funeral Home on Friday, July 28, with the Rev. Kenneth A. Haffner officiating.
The American Legion Chariton-Polan Post No. 233 conducted military gravesite services at Square Lake cemetery.".

1875-03-24 - "Elmore Bailey, son of Wm. Bailey, has had a severe time of inflammation and congestion of the lungs. But by good care and skillful treatment of Doctor Goodenough, of Clarkston, is improving finely. This is a second narrow escape, if such it may be termed, that Elmore has had."

1875-11-24 - "Elmore Bailey was kicked by a horse the other day in the side laming him somewhat."

1878-05-29 - "Elmore Bailey, a young man of this place [Bailey Lake], was recently thrown from a buggy, breaking his left arm and dislocating his shoulder."

1904-04-14 - "Bailey who lives four miles southwest of town [Oxford] lost his house by fire Saturday."

Bailey triplets are listed in the cemetery records for the Square Lake Cemetery, Orion Twp., Oakland County, MI in section CO9 along with Elmer B. Bailey and Caroline Bailey Howard. However no stone for them could be found.
