January 26, 1945 - "Keith V. McCaslin, son of Mrs. Earl McCaslin of Lima Route 1, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant at Camp Cooke, Calif. A graduate of Shawnee high school, class of 1943, he has three brothers in service, Loyal, a private, who arrived recently in France; Earl, a sergeant at Camp Seibert, Ala., and Robert, a corporal in the Air Corps, overseas.".

The death report of Earl McCaslin in the Lima News reports that he was born March 13, 1892 although his WWI registration clearly says March 15. We also have confusion over the marriage date of Earl and Estella. The 1930 census seemed to show 1916 while the article on their 50th anniversary seemed to indicate December 1914. This article says December 16, 1914.
