2 Richard DE SHERBURNE2,3,4 ( -1361) [14535]. Marr Alice DE PLUMPTON 1352.4 Died 1361.2,4

We know that Margaret Sherburne's father was Richard Sherburne. Gentlemens Magazine: and Historical Chronicles by Sylvanus Urban, 1824 reports that Richard Sherburne married Alice Plumpton (or de Plumpton) and that Alice's father was William de Plumpton. Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America Before 1700 By Frederick Lewis Weis, 2004 confirms this marriage and reports that it took place in 1352. Note that this says that Richard Shireburne died in 1361, instead of the 1373 reported in The History of County Palantine. It appears that 1361 is correct. This is the date shown in several other sources and fits with the report in the above mentioned Ancestral Roots that Alice married for a second time in 1364.
