This is Rose May Miller and her jusband, George Nordyke Yuill. They were married 08 Nov, 1905 in Lafayette. George and Rose had four children: Mildred Lucille, Edward Miller (was active in Lafayette city politics until his death in 1979), George Richard and Martha Ellen. George was an engineer for the Monon Railroad for most of his life, he didn't retire until he was 74 years old -- with an unblemished record. Rose died 09 Sept 1950, and George died 17 Aug 1979 at the age of 96.4

J.R. Yuill was born 3 Sep 1851 in Singhampton, Canada West (now Ontario), Canada. He crossed the border with his family in 1863, settling in Lafayette. He bacame a naturalized citizen iin September 1888. His parents, ANdrew Yhuill and Mary Bell, were both born in Scotland. James married Martha Jane Davis 22 Mar 1882. Their children: (back) George Nordyke, b. Feb 1883; Mabel, b. 15 Nov 1885; Louise Bernadine, b. 17 Mar 1887; (front) James Robertson Jr., b. 18 Apr. 1892; Dewey Andrew, b. 8 Mar, 1898; and Walter Lewis b. 7 Aug. 1889. Wife Martha Jane was born 23 June 1858 in Bhampaign Co., IL, daughter of Lewis Sears Davis and Permelia Robertson.11

Provided by Elaine Bell, "Around 1864, Mary and her husband Andrew Yuill and family emigrated to the US, settling in Indiana. In September the previous year CCA and his wife (Janet, daughter of Andrew Yuill and stepdaughter/sister-in-law of Mary) and their two children emigrated to New Zealand via Glasgow, arriving at Dunedin on the ship "Aboukir" in January 1864.
