July 2, 1915 - "George M. Saunders and Wert L. Saunders, of Howell, were the guests of their cousin, R. H. Rose, and family, this week."

The obit of Alice Sarah Saunders reported that her brother, George Montie Saunders, died November 1, 1930. The death certificate for George confirms this and also tells us that he was born March 17, 1857 in Marion, MI. He is shown here as Montie George Saunders. Find-A-Grave, however, reports that he was George Montford Saunders and was born March 7. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Howell.

There are three spellings of Leona's surname in various records. It seems clear that after checking a number of things that the 'ey' in Prawey is someone's incorrect reading of "iz", making the correct name Prawiz. The best evidence for this is the 1911 probate documents for Leona's father where the name is clearly Prawiz. Leona Saunders is even mentioned here. William's Find A Grave page also includes a photo of his marker where the name is clearly Prawiz.²⁴
