September 10, 1891 - "The wedding of Mr. Gustavus Dondero, of Detroit, and Miss Ida Granger of Royal Oak, took place on Tuesday, September 1."

July 14, 1922 - "OBITUARY - Mrs. Gustavus Dondero. Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Isabell Dondero, wife of Gustavus Dondero, city commissioner and owner of Dondero Confectionery on Main street, were held at the home at 502 South Lafayette avenue Thursday afternoon. Rev. George E. Dawkins of the Royal Oak Baptist church and Rev. Walter F. Hetzel of the Royal Oak Emmanuel Evangelical church officiated. Burial will be in Oakview cemetery as soon as her son, Edward, arrives from Los Angeles, California. City commissioners acted as pall-bearers. Mrs Dondero died Monday morning in Highland Park General Hospital where she had been taken for a serious operation. She was born in Detroit, January 24, 1873. While still a small girl her parents moved to the present location of the MachPelah cemetery, Ferndale, where her father owned a saw mill. She lived here until she married Gustavus Dondero on September 1, 1891, when they moved to Royal Oak. She is survived by two sons, Donald F. of Royal Oak and Edward L. of Los Angeles, besides her husband. Donald was married to Miss Cleo Coyle recently. Mrs Dondero was a sister-in-law of Mayor George A. Dondero.".
