January 22, 1915 - "The residence of Rosina Rose on Seventh street caught fire in some unaccountable manner Friday but was extinguished by the fire department before much damage was done. The damage which was about a hundred dollars, is covered by insurance."
September 15, 1915 - "A family gathering was held at the home of Rosina Rose on Seventh street, Sunday, the following guests being present: Mr. and Mrs. William M. Hall, of Troy; Mr. and Mrs. P.W. Parmenter and children, of Troy; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Burley, of Clio; Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Wright and daughter, of this village, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rose and daughter, of this village. A sumptuous banquet had been prepared for the occasion."
July 1, 1921 - "Rosina Rose of Seventh street entertained at dinner Sunday the following guests: Mrs. William M. Hall, Birmingham, Mr. and Mrs. Lester A. Wright and son Harold of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. N (M.) Dick and daughter of Detroit. Judge and Mrs. R.H. Rose and daughters Gladys and Mildred of Royal Oak. A chicken dinner was served and an enjoyable time reported by all.
September 4, 1921- "Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Wright and son Harold and Mrs. Melvin Dick and daughter Grace of Detroit were Sunday guests of Miss Rosina Rose, East Seventh Street."
April 13, 1923 - "ROOF OF INA ROSE HOME BURNED OFF; REST SAVED. The home of Ina Rose, 116 East Seventh street, caught fire late Monday afternoon, and the entire roof was burned off. The rest of the building was saved by the quick and efficient work of the Royal Oak Fire department. A defective chimney was said to have caused the fire. As a result of the delay caused in this case, fire department officers ask that persons who telephone fire alarms be very careful about giving the correct address. It may mean the loss of a home while the department is going on some wild goose chase looking for an address that was carelessly given."
August 9, 1927 - "Mrs. Rosina Rose, age 83, died at her home, 117 East Seventh street, yesterday. Funeral services will be held at the Sullivan chapel at 11:00 tomorrow. Interment will be at the Royal Oak cemetery. Mrs. Rose leaves a sister, Mrs. Rebekah (Rebecca) Hall of Birmingham.".

A mention of Joseph Leonard Rose was found in a biographical sketch of his son in law, William Marcus Hall in 'Biographical Record: this volume contains biographical sketches of leading citizens of Oakland County, Michigan, 1903.'
"Mr. Hall was married in 1869 to Rebecca A. Rose, who was born in Brandon township, Oakland County, in 1840, and is a daughter of Joseph Leonard and Charlotte (Bailey) Rose.".

Notes from Margaret Amey: "Pioneers of Bradford Co." says that Martin Rose got land in Penn. in 1815 from brother William. He had settled there in 1806 and the area was named Roseville for him. Martin died in 1824 and brother Joel adm. his estate. Rufus Lemon was appt. guardian of the children. It is possible that this Joel may have lived in the same location for awhile.

Joel was appointed administrator of his father's estate 3-27-1782, and one of the appraisers of the estate of brother Arra, 3-29-1785. A Pvt.in the Rev. War, his name is on a monument in Manchester dedicated to the men who fought in all the wars. He was a patriot, apparently influenced by his wife's family, while his father and some brothers were Loyalists. He and Rachel had ten children, born 1774 to 1794. These included Isaac, Joel Jr., Hannah, William, Peter, Martin, Ezra, Levi,Levicy, and Oharrey. He is on the Census for Manchester, 1790, 2 males over 16, 6 males under 16, and 3 females. He was evidently still inManchester on 9-29-1800, as a horse was reported strayed or stolen from him on that date, although he is not in Census for that year. The family removed to Onondaga County soon after. Son William had Roseville, Pa. named after him (Life in Roseville :A Socio-Historical Portrait, BaileyPrinting Co., 1973). Joel's Tombstone, located in the Rose Family Burying Ground near Baldwinsville, is inscribed "In Memory of Joel Rose who died 31 Aug. 1819 in the 72 yr. of his age". Birthdate is from a family bible. Levi was appointed administrator of his estate, 9-7-1819.
From Margaret Amey: "The baptism of Joel Rose 2 Mar 1748 in New Milford is said to have come from a family Bible not public records. In 1930 the Bible was viewed or owned by a descendant Mrs Nora Palmer in New York city. ".

She was the daughter of John Roberts and Susanna Mayhew of Manchester, who came from Rhode Island via Nine Partners, NY. John was a Whig. Rachel had five brothers: Peter, John, William, Benjamin and Christopher. One sister, Jemina. Peter was involved in the sale of cattle belonging to Samuel Rose II, 5-14-1787. Rachel's Tombstone, located in the Rose Family Burying Ground near Baldwinsville, is inscribed "In Memory of Rachel wife of Joel Rose who died 29 July 1819 in the 68th year of her age". Birthdate is from a family bible.

Y., where he d. Nov. 10, 1832. His wife d. August 7, 1827".

"One of the most enjoyable affairs of the season was given by Mrs. Maro Robinson for her mother's birthday. About twenty-five assembled at her residence. Some very nice presents were given among which will be mentioned only a few: A bronze flower crock; Mr. Ransom Rose of East Saginaw; a lace apron; Mrs H. Dowe; a white lace hood, Mr. Warren Rose, of Roseville; a black silk dress, Mrs Mark Hall; a hand painted salt holder, little Bessie Gregory; cord of wood, Mr. Maro Robison. Mrs Rose is eighty years of age, and never wore eye glasses.".

Know all Men by these presents that we Roswell Bailey, Robert Bailey & Asenath Bailey wife of Robert Bailey of Tioga Township in the County of Lycoming and State of Pennsylvania Yeoman for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty Dollars to me in hand paid before the signing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Do give bargain, Sell, alien Sell and convey unto Josiah Bennett in Township No. 5, Steuben County and State of New York, one certain Mesuage or tract of Land lying in said Township and County aforesaid Containing one hundred acres: Bounded as follows Beginning at a White oak tree, the north west corner of Jacob Boyes lot, Running North 95 perches and three tenths thence east 168 perches thence South 95 p.s. and
three tenths then West 168 p.s. to the place of Beginning Containing one hundred acres being confident equal in Quantity and quality to one other hundred acres of land lying north of the tract above described. Thomas McBurney one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the said County, Nathan Niles one of the subscribing Witnesses to the within Deed who after being duly Sworn according to taw doth depose and say that he saw the within Grantors to this deed sign, seal and Deliver the same as their Voluntary act and Deed and that he likewise saw Sylvester Bailey subscribe his name as a witness to this Deed, 1 having examined the said Aseneth Baily
Seperately and apart from her Husband who Acknowledged her Signature of this Deed to he a voluntary act of her own without any compulsion on the part of the said husband, I having examined the same do find no Material Interlineations nor erasures but those noted before Signing, Do permit the same to be recorded.
