May 12, 1912 - "Jim Blight and son of Montrose spent Saturday here [County Line] on business."
August 28, 1913 - "Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wright and daughter Gladys and son Harold, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Carter and daughter Thelma, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lowell and son Ithurmer and Mrs. R. K. Rose spent Sunday at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. James Blight near Montrose. Seventeen in all were present. A four course menu was served on the lawn."
October 24, 1913 - "For Sale - 40 acre berry farm 2 1/2 miles north of Clio, on stone road. Easy terms. James Blight, Valley phone. 4t"
April 14, 1916 - "James Blight has sold his farm to J. Corwin, of Flushing."
August 9, 1918 - "James Blight, wife and daughters, Evelyn and Ila, and son, Elwin, of Montrose, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Carter."
1924-06-26 - "BLIGHT HOME BURNS - Late last Tuesday afternoon the fine farm home of James Blight and family located about five miles west of Clio, on the Montrose road, caught fire from a defective chimney and was totally destroyed. The family were out in the field picking berries when the fire originated and thus it had gained so much headway before being discovered that it was impossible to subdue it. A number of neighbors were on the scene very quickly, however, and by dint of strenuous work managed to save a large share of the household effects. the home was very commodious and desirable and the insurance of four thousand dollars, which we are informed was carried, would scarcely cover the loss."
Information from Janice Blight Blakeley about the location of the Blight farm. The farm was on 7322 Vienna Rd. It was in the family over 100 years. The barn burned down about 3-4 years ago. (written 6/20/2000)
