Earle W. Parcells
Earle W. Parcells, a member of the firm of Charles A. Parcells & Company, engaged In the investment banking business in Detroit, was bom in New Millford, Connecticut, September 3,1899, and is descended from old New England families, his ancestral record being given In connection with the sketch of Charles A. Parcells on another page of this work. He attended the Hopkins grammar school of New Haven and had reached the age of 18 years when In 1917 he enlisted for service in the U.S. Medical Corps. He was sent to a base hospital and was on active duty until the close of the World war. His military activities being ended, he went to Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was in the employ of the Northern Pacific Railroad Company. Later he was transferred to Montana, where he assisted in installing the block signal system and in building the road. He afterward spent one summer as an employee in the Yellowstone National Park and subsequently was an automobile salesman in Minneapolis.

Having saved enough to pay his fare to Detroit, Mr. Parcells came to this city in September, 1919, and entered the employ of his brother, Charles A. Parcells, who had established an Investment banking business. He closely applied himself to the mastery of his duties in this connection, and his rapidly expanding powers led to his becoming a member of the firm in 1924. The company has a large clientele and the business has long since been placed upon a substantial and profitable basis. Earle W. Parcells Is also president of the Security Salvage Corporation, likewise a prosperous enterprise.

On October 6, 1923, Mr. Parcells was married to Myra Judson Smith, of Detroit, and they have two children, Earle W., Jr. and Florence Woodson. Mr. Parcells enjoys the social side of life, and his genial disposition and pleasing personality have made him popular in various organizations. He is a member of the Old Club, the Detroit Boat Club, The Down Town Club, the Pontchartrain Club, the Founders Club and the Chateau Voyageurs on Grosse Ile.
