February 21, 1946 - "Pearl Harbor, T.H. - Don J. Haigh, photographer's mate, third class, USNR, 1128 Maryland, is a student at the Navy Pacific university here during off-duty hours.
NavPacU, which opened Jan 3, has a curriculum of more than 100 high school, college and technical courses and a service enrollment of more than three thousand. The faculty is composed of navy and marine personnel and civilians.
Classes meet for two hours a day, five days a week. Courses are completed in four weeks, then examinations are administered by the U.S. Armed Forces Institute.".
