January 29, 1937 - "Branford, Jan. 28 - (A.P.) - James Milne, 47, Federal probation officer for Connecticut, died today at his Stony Creek home, after an illness of several months. Milne, a native of Hallowell, Me., had spent most of his life at Stony Creek. He was prominent in fraternal organizations, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the knights of Pythias. He also had been connected actively with the Parish Players, an amateur theatrical group now disbanded.
Surviving are his widow, Florence Brainerd Milne; a sister, Miss Elizabeth Milne of Stony Creek, and four brothers, George Milne of Branford, Gerald Milne of Hartford, Keith Milne of Clintonville and Lewis Milne of Stony Creek. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon from the Church of Christ, Congregational, at Stony Creek.".
