November 25, 2003 - "James F. Beckwith, beloved husband of Dorothy (Tomlinson) Beckwith, of South Windsor, died Monday (November 24, 2003) at home. Mr. Beckwith was born in Hartford on May 13, 1913, son of the late, Frederick R. and Elizabeth (Downey Beckwith. He had lived in Manchester for 22 years, retiring to East Dennis, Cape Cod, MA for 27 years, before moving to South Windsor four years ago. He was a salesman before retiring and was a member of the Second Congregational Church, Manchester. Besides his wife of 65 years, Dorothy, he leaves a daughter, Susan (Beckwith) Johnson and her husband William of South Windsor; two sons, James P. Beckwith and his wife, Lorraine of Cape Cod, MA and Timothy S. Beckwith and his wife, Patricia of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Village at Buckland Court, 432 Buckland Road, South Windsor, with the Rev. Kathy Faber, officiating. Burial will be private in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the South Windsor Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 705, South Windsor 06074. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, South Windsor, has care of arrangements.".

January 13, 1941 - "Mrs. Christine Starr Brainerd, wife of Harvey B. Brainerd, president and treasurer of Harvey B. Brainerd, Inc.., Insurance agency, died Saturday evening at her home, 41 Center Street, Wethersfield.
Mrs. Brainerd was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational, of Wethersfield. Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Mrs. Charles C. Tomlinson, Jr., and Mrs. Earl R. Carter of Hartford, Miss Louise B. Brainerd and Miss Elizabeth B. Brainerd of Wethersfield; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at her home Tuesday at 2 p.m., with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.".
