The building on the southeast corner of Flint and Broadway (3 Broadway and 14 Flint) was the Commercial House Hotel and bar. It was run by Jud Hay, later by Homer Taylor. The building later burned.

30 May 1890 - "Judd Hay, drayman, has removed to Church street east [Orion]."

18 Jul 1890 - "Jud. Hay has sold out his dray business and gone threshing."

21 Nov 1890 - "J. A. Hay will move to Detroit and become a barber.".
