October 10, 1947 - "A double birthday party was held at the Lyle Fritz home last week in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz's two sons, Richard (7) and Billy (10).. Recent guests of the Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Fritz were the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Fritz of Jackson, Mich."
July 21, 1955 - "He's one of 20,000! Nill Fritz, son of Mrs. Dorthy Fritz of Lake Orion, writes that he's now one of 20,000 trainees at Sampson Air Force Base. A June graduate of LOHS, Bill is now a bigger boy than he was the night he wore the cap and gown; his weight has jumped from 145 to 165 pounds! When you drop that friendly letter to Bill, here's what you put on the envelope: AB William E. Fritz, AF16507459, FLT 4399, Sqd. 3660, BMTS, Sampson AFB, Geneva, N.Y."
August 11, 1955 - "Local Boy Doing All Right in Basic Training. Word was received here this week that Bill Fritz, 17, son of Mrs. Dorothy Fritz of Lake Orion, is doing all right in Uncle Sam's Air Force. Stationed at Sampson Air Force Base, Geneve, N.Y. Bill recently made 184 points out of a possible 200 in an M-1 carbine test, ranking highest in his class. Classified by his instructors as an "expert" as a result of his high grades, Bill was even offered an instructorship."
December 31, 1957 - "William Fritz arrived home on Dec. 29. He is in the Air Force and is stationed in Salina, Kan."
July 24, 1958 - Fritz Furloughs at Home. Home for a 30 day furlough is A/2 William E. Fritz, son of Mrs. Dorothy Fritz, of 600 Highview. Fritz is stationed at Schilling Air Base in Salina, Kan. Because of the Eastern situation, Fritz must, in spite of the fact he's on furlough, remain on 24 hour alert.".

1950-10-27 - "Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Fritz and family honored their son, Bruce's fourth birthday and the former's father's James Fritz, on his 71st birthday Sunday."
1950-12-1 - "Lyle Fritz was taken to St. Joseph Mercy hospital in Pontiac, last Friday. His condition was such that four blood transfusions have been necessary. He is expected home the latter part of the week but will be confined to his home for some time."
1950-12-8 - "Lyle Fritz was not able to return to his home and is still confined in St. Joseph hospital in Pontiac, suffering from bronchitis and arthritis of the spine."
1951-1-5 - "Services today for Lyle A. Fritz. Lyle A. Fritz, 37, of 880 Highview road, died in his home Tuesday, Jan. 2, after an illness of six weeks. Born Dec. 17, 1913, in Imlay City, he had lived here nine years, coming from Oxford, MI. Surviving are his widow, Dorothy; four sons, William E., Richard L., Bruce E., and his father James. Service will be today, Friday, at 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, the Rev. Ray Whims officiating. Burial in East Lawn cemetery."
1951-1-5 - "Those from out of town to attend the Lyle Fritz funeral were: Rev. Ray Whims and daughter of Spring Harbor, he being Mrs. Fritz's uncle. Also Mrs. Phillip Stieb of Flint and including a group of fellow workmen from the shop in Pontiac."

"The marriage of Dorothy Rogers to Lyle Fritz, of Pontiac, took place Friday, February 12, at the M.E. parsonage at Clarkston. The couple were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Chetwood, of Pontiac. The bride was a former student in the Oxford High School and lived with her grandmother, Mrs. Ella Bailey."

June 6, 1952 - "Mrs Frances Hugill and Mrs. Lois McCollun called on Mrs. Dorothy Fritz of 880 Highview, Saturday, at Pontiac General Hospital. Dorothy was in an automobile accident in Oxford on May 16. She suffered a broken heel and arm and shoulder injuries."

February 5, 1977, of 59 Crawfords St., Oxford; age 59; wife of the late Lyle Fritz; mother of William Fritz of Indianapolis, Ind., Richard Fritz of Fort Dix, New Jersey, Bruce Fritz of Lake Orion and Michael Fritz of Oxford; nine grandchildren. Mrs. Fritz was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, was employed at GM Truck and Coach and was a member of MOM's Club of Lake Orion. Funeral service Tuesday, February 8, at 1 p.m. at Bossardet Funeral Home, Oxford. Rev. Fred Applegate officiating. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery, Lake Orion. Mrs. Fritz is lying in state at the funeral home.".

July 4, 1922 - "OXFORD WOMAN IS LAID TO REST. Funeral of Mrs. William Rogers held at Seymour Lake. The funeral of Mrs William Rogers of Oxford was held at the church here yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Services were conducted by Rev. T.D. Denman of Oxford. Mrs Rogers was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Bailey and had spent the greater part of her life here. Besides her husband she leaves a young son, Morris, and a daughter, Dorothy. One brother and three daughters survive, Warren Bailey, Mrs. William Whims of Snover, Mrs Winnie Porritt of Seymour Lake and Mrs Dorothy Allemon of Oxford."
Anna's middle name has been reported to be Katherine, but her husbands WWI Selective Service Registration card gives her middle initial as "E.".

1880-03-17 - "The agent of the Watertown, (N.Y.) Fire Insurance Company only paid Winfield S. Bailey $10 on a $50 loss he sustained by fire a few weeks ago. Mr. Bailey, feeling a great injustice had been done him, withdrew his insurance from that company, and insured in the Oakland County Mutual."

"A pioneer of Oakland county, Mrs Sarah Ellen Bailey, 85, died at her Oxford home Friday night. She had lived on the Bailey homestead south of Seymour Lake for 48 years, moving to Oxford in November, 1923, where her husband died. She was born in Orion township Oct. 2, 1857, and was married to Winfield S. Bailey Nov. 17, 1875. Surviving are her son Warren of Lake Orion and three daughters, Mrs. Winifred Porritt of Seymour Lake; Mrs. Mildred Whims of Midland and Mrs. Dorothy Alleman of Oxford, 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held from the Whitcomb-Mabley chapel in Oxford Sunday at 2 p.m. and burial will be made in the Seymour Lake cemetery.".
