March 19, 1953 - "At the Oxford Village Election Monday, March 9, Ted Pearson was elected president."

April 9, 1959 - "Speakers for April 16 Chamber of Commerce Dinner. Ted Pearson Jr., Ralph Precious, Robert Parenti. VILLAGE MANAGEMENT and how it operates will be the subject of brief talks by a trio of speakers at the April 16 annual dinner-meeting of the Lake Orion Chamber of Commerce, to taken place at 7 p.m. at Indianwood Golf and Country Club. Pearson recently finished a long tenure as president of Oxford. Precious is Oxford village manager, while Parenti is attorney for Oxford. Tickets for the dinner may be obtained from Joe Taylor at Dancer's Store."

Mr. Pearson was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church, was the Industrial Relations Manager for Universal Oil Seal of Pontiac, he served on the Oxford board of education for 15 years and for 7 years he was President, he was a delegate of the Oakland County Intermediate School Board, the delegate to Michigan School Board Assn., a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for Oakland County Schools, a former member of of the Executive Board of Clinton Valley Council of Boy Scouts of America, Past President of the Clinton Valley Council of Boy Scouts, the holder of Scouting's highest award - the Silver Beaver, a past Scoutmaster of the Clinton Valley Boy Scouts of America and Oxford Village President from 1953 to 1959. Funeral service Friday, 11 a.m. Bossardet Funeral Home, Oxford, Rev. David Russell of the Oxford United Methodist Church and Rev. Don Hall of the Court Street United Methodist Church officiating. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery, Oxford. Mr. Pearson is lying in state at the Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Michigan Heart fund or your favorite charity.

Earl R. Alleman - OXFORD - Service for Earl R. Alleman, 76 of 15 Ensley will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Bossardet Funeral Home, with burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Oxford.

Mr. Alleman, a former member of the village council, a former employee of the village fire department and a member of the Oxford Methodist Church, the Methodist Men's Club, the Knights of Pythias and the Aggregates of America, died Sunday.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Pearson of Oxford and Mrs. JoAnn Dumas of Vermont; a son, William of Utica; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

1880-03-17 - "The agent of the Watertown, (N.Y.) Fire Insurance Company only paid Winfield S. Bailey $10 on a $50 loss he sustained by fire a few weeks ago. Mr. Bailey, feeling a great injustice had been done him, withdrew his insurance from that company, and insured in the Oakland County Mutual."

"A pioneer of Oakland county, Mrs Sarah Ellen Bailey, 85, died at her Oxford home Friday night. She had lived on the Bailey homestead south of Seymour Lake for 48 years, moving to Oxford in November, 1923, where her husband died. She was born in Orion township Oct. 2, 1857, and was married to Winfield S. Bailey Nov. 17, 1875. Surviving are her son Warren of Lake Orion and three daughters, Mrs. Winifred Porritt of Seymour Lake; Mrs. Mildred Whims of Midland and Mrs. Dorothy Alleman of Oxford, 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held from the Whitcomb-Mabley chapel in Oxford Sunday at 2 p.m. and burial will be made in the Seymour Lake cemetery.".
