June 30, 1921 "Matrimonial. Davis-Burley. The Messenger has the pleasant privilege of announcing the marriage of Miss Lucy Davis, daughter of Mrs. William Davis, and Mr. Edward Burley, both of Clio. The wedding took place at the residence of the groom on Wednesday evening, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Joseph Dibley, pastor of the Methodist Protestant Church. The bride has resided in Clio practically all her life and is a universally respected and highly accomplished lady. For several years past she has taught in the high schools of Flint, Saginaw and other nearby places. The groom, likewise, is greatly respected and the many friends of both will wish for them all possible happiness. We understand that it is the purpose of Mr. and Mrs. Burley to reside in the groom's home in this place."

December 8, 1921 - "The Crescent Class of the M.P. Sunday School met with Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Burley Tuesday evening."

December 15, 1921 - "Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Burley attended the M.P. Church supper at Geneseeville, Friday night."

October 11, 1923 - "Mrs. Lucy Burley received bad cuts on both hands, Tuesday, while canning fruit. AS she was sealing the can the top broke and her hands, coming in contact with the edges of the broken glass, were so severely cut that the services of a physician were required.".
