1882-07-06 - "Mr. and Mrs. H. Brown and Mr. Frank Rose furnished excellent music for the dancing party."

1882-08-31 - "The total number of school children in Grayling, as shown by the enumeration lately taken by Mr. Frank Rose, is 103."

1883-04-19 - "Mr. Frank Rose with his family have moved on to his farm just over the line in Frederic township. We predict for Frank a successful future in growing beets, turnips and lettuce."

1883-10-18 - "ESTRAY NOTICE. Came into the enclosure of the subscriber Oct. 13th a cow, about 8 years old, giving milk, fair size, a kind of brindle, red, mouse color. The owner is requested to prove property, pay charges, and take her away. Frank B. Rose Sec.36, t27n, 4w."

1884-05-25 -"F. B. Rose is running the tug engine on Portage Lake."

1885-01-08 - "F. B. Rose has just finished mounting a deer’s head for W. Alger, who killed the “varmint” this fall. It is one of the finest specimens we ever saw and is put up in grand style."

1893-02-09 - "A letter from Frank ROSE, dated at South Butler, N. Y., conveys the sad intelligence of the death of his brother-in-law, Charles VIELE, who will be remembered by many of our citizens as a most estimable young man. His death was caused by an accident in the factory where he was at work."

August 20, 1896 - "Frank B. Rose, a tinsmith in William Pasco's hardware store in South Butler, was bitten through the arm near the hand by a dog which Mr. Pasco had recently had sent him. On Tuesday the animal had escaped from the owner and Mr. Rose who was taking him back, was the victim of his anger. Dr. W.J. Coppernoll treated the wounds. The dog, it is said, was known to be vicious when sent to South Butler."

March 21, 1898 - "EXCITEMENT AND BURNING OIL. Three South Butler Man Seriously Burned by an Explosion in a Repair Shop.
Saturday morning while Frank B. Rose, a tinsmith, was at work in the hardware store of W.M. Pasco, at South Butler. Henry Wetmore went in to have some repairs made on a machine used for burning old paint from buildings. Through some defect in the can an explosion occurred and the burning oil was thrown through the room.
Both men rushed out doors, their clothes blazing. Bystanders succeeded in extinguishing the flames by rolling the men in the mud and water of the road. Mr. Rose was the more severely burned of the two, the flesh on his hands being nearly cooked and his face badly scorched. Mr. Wetmore's burns were only on his hands. Charles Carkner, who drives the Butler Center stage, was present when the explosion occurred and had his hair and eyebrows singed. The damage to the building was slight.".

1882-11-02 - "We are pleased to announce the little children of Mrs. F. Rose and Mrs. Evans in a fair way of recovery."

23 Nov, 1882 - "A private letter received Monday from Mrs. Frank B. ROSE - who is visiting her parents at Oneida, Madison county, N. Y. - states that her infant child appears to be better, and that she has yet strong hopes of its recovery."

15 Mar, 1883 - "Mrs. F. B. ROSE, with little Charley and the remains of little Harley, are expected home to-day or to-night, accompanied by Mrs. A. J. ROSE."

01 Nov, 1883 - "Mrs. F. B. Rose has gone to Madison county, N.Y., for a visit with old-time friends."

13 Mar, 1884 - "Mrs. Frank Rose returned from her eastern visit last week, and Frank’s countenance is materially brighter."

11 Dec, 1884 - "Mr. and Mrs. P. M. VIELE, of Oneida, N. Y., are the guests of their daughter, Mrs. F. B. ROSE. They will probably remain through the winter."

1886-04-29 - "Mrs. F. B. Rose, and child left on last Thursday for New York State, for the purpose of joining F. B. at Oneida where he has work."

1889-08-22 - "Mrs. Frank Rose and her son arrived from New York, last Friday evening for a visit with the family and friends here."

1889-10-03 - "Mrs. Frank Rose left last Thursday for her home at Oneida, N.Y."

June 22, 1917 - "The many friends in this place were shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Frank B. Rose which occurred Saturday evening at her late home in Onedia.she had only been ill a few hours suffering fro an attack of acute indigestion. Mrs. Rose was a former resident of this place, and had man warm friends who who seriously regret her untimely demise. Beside her husband she is survived by one son, Charles A. Rose, and three grandchildren.".
