Nancy Dobson reports that Ludvig's real name was Ludvig Sorenson and that he chaged it to Dale when ha came to the Unteed States from Norway because he felt is sounded more American.

April 20, 1914 - "BOY SCOUT LEADER IS HERE - LUDWIG S. DALE TO SPEAK AT PLYMOUTH CHURCH. Boy Scouts Will Appear at the Meeting In Their Full Uniform.
Ludwig S. Dale, the national recruiting officer of the Boy Scout movement, will be the speaker tonight at a big meeting scheduled to be held on the Plymouth Congregational church. It is expected that there will be a large attendance at this gathering, which will be held at 8 o'clock. About 300 of the local Boy Scouts will be present at the meeting and will appear in their uniforms. This will add much to the interest of the meeting. The boys will also be in uniform at the meeting to be addressed by Mr. Dale tomorrow night,"

November 16, 1945 - "Ludvig S. Dale, Hornell, to BE Rotary Speaker. Ludwig S. Dale of Hornell, N.Y., will be the guest speaker at the Bradford Rotary Club luncheon to be held at the Emery Hotel on Monday noon. Mr. Dale, a prominent Chautauqua speaker will use as his subject "Russia and Present International Affairs." The local Rotarians will present Monday's program in keeping with Rotary's United Nation's Charter Week."

Above all, to keep myself physically strong, Mentally awake and morally straight. To "Be Prepared" at all times to do my duty to God and my country, and to do a good turn to someone every day.".
