"WRIGHT, Joy O. - Of Au Gres, Michigan, age 83, died Thursday, June 5, 1997. A memorial service will be held at 3PM Sunday, June 8, 1997 at Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1158 West Bristol Road, Elder Fred and Mary McClellan officiating. Cremation will follow visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church. Visitation 2:30-9PM Saturday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs Wright was born in Bay City, Michigan on June 29, 1913 and was a long time resident of the Flint area and had been in Au Gres for the past 8 years. She married Merle Wright in 1976. She was a member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved her Church family very much. Mrs Wright was past president of ABWA and had been in many other organizations. She was former owner of Corunna Road Furniture Company. Surviving are daughter, Artha and husband Kenneth Rawlings of Mt. Pleasant, Ryan and Sheri Rawlings of Flint; 4 great-grandchildren, Kelli, Michael, Sydney, Joy and Nolan. Joy was blessed with an extended family by her marriage to Merle; daughter, Beth Ann and husband Wayne Rock of Flint; son, Jerry and wife Jackie Wright of Ann Arbor; 5 grandchildren, David, Jim and Kevin Rock, Teri and Joh Wright; 8 great-grandchildren. She cherished the love and support shown by the Doris Rawlings family and by very special friends, The Frye family. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1991.".
