Mr. and Mrs. William Bailey, of Blossburg were honored at their home with a family dinner marking their 50th anniversary of their marriage. Miss Carrie Clark and William Bailey were married 50 years ago at Lindley, N.Y. All their married life has been spent in Blossburg. They were presented with a number of gifts.
Attending the dinner were: Mr. and Mrs Fred Bailey, Mr and Mrs. Leon Bailey, Elmira; Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bailey, Miss Nettie Bailey, Edward Statts, Wellsboro; Pirl Bailey, Leon Bailey, Jr., Mrs. Florence Bailey, Mansfield; Mr. and Mrs. William Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bailey, Bernard Baily, Miss Inez Bailey and Edward Miller, Blossburg."

MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM BAILEY of Blossburg were honor guests at a dinner party given at their home Saturday evening in observance of their 55th wedding anniversary. They were married in Lindley, N.Y., Jan. 24, 1886. Their entire life has been spent in Blossburg. They are the parents of four children, Miss Insay Bailey and Harold Bailey of Blossburg, Leon Bailey of Elmira and Pearl Bailey of Mansfield. Mr. and Mrs. Bailey received many gifts and cards of congratulation. "In Delmar Mr. Constant Bailey, who lived on Heise run, lost his house and barn, several cows and calves, all his furniture and everything else, being glad to get out with his family alive. Charles Balfour's house and barn were also burned and about $1,000 worth of hemlock bark belonging to Wright and Bailey."

"Death of Constant Bailey. Constant Bailey, of Wellsboro, died last Friday morning at the home of his youngest daughter, Mrs. Ivan Butler, of Asaph. Mr. Bailey had been confined to his bed for about three weeks, but was taken worse Friday morning and died about 11 o'clock.

The deceased was born in Rutland township and was about 75 years of age at the time of his death. He is survived by eight children: Mrs. Charlotte Mold, of Elmira; Mrs. Wallace Hagar, of Sylvania: Frank Bailey, of Asaph; John Bailey, of Wellsboro, Route 7; Will Bailey, of Blossburg; Mrs. Almon Smith, of Fort Myers, Fla.; Fred Bailey, of Wellsboro, and Mrs. Ivan Butler, of Asaph. He is also survived by two sisters - - Mrs. Wm. Aylesworth, of Blossburg, and Mrs. Abigal Burnside, of Covington -- and a half brother, Lafayette Bailey, of Mainesburg.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the home of the son of the deceased, Fred Bailey, on Fellows avenue, Rev. Dr. Shaw officiating.".

"Mrs. Purley Bailey suffered an apoplectic seizure last Wednesday evening at prayer meeting at the Baptist church. Dr. Davies was called and she was removed to the Blossburg hospital. Her condition is considered very serious."

"Mrs. Purley Bailey, who has been a patient at the Blossburg Hospital for some time, has returned to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Soper." She is slowly improving."

"Mrs. Lottie Soper Bailey, wife of Perley Bailey, of Covingtron, died Saturday afternoon at the Blossburg hospital. Mrs. Bailey was born in Covington where she is survived by her husband; a daughter, Viola, and a son, Loen; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Soper, of Covington, and three sisters. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at Covington; interment in Arbon cemetery at Blossburg.".
