Gray witnesses were Wm. & Elizabeth Smith, married to Lena Helms age 18, of Pine Run, born Meridell, occupation is teacher, father is Henry Helms, mother is Mary Ryns, first marriage for both.

Wright, Irving A. 309 W. Kearsley St., age 67, died Tuesday, July 13th, 1937, at Hurley Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m, Thursday, July 15, from Groves & Co. Funeral Home. Burial in Avondale cemetery. Remains will be at Groves & Co. funeral home. Surviving are: wife Lena, 3 daughters, Mrs. Eva Stewart of Flint, Mrs. Lola Roe of South Branch, Michigan, and Mrs. Lillian LaPratt of Alma, Michigan, 3 sons, Ernest, Laverne and Floyd Wright all of Flint, 24 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter 1 sister Ruperta Wart (Ward) of Cleveland, Ohio.

"Wright - Albert C. Wright, a resident of Birch Run for the past 21 years died of paralysis at his home Sunday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock. Mr. Wright was born in New York state November 27, 1837 and May 26, 1890 (correct date - May 27, 1896) was married to Mrs. Mary Colville, who, with four children, survives him. The children are Charles of Jackson, Irving of Flint, Mrs Daniel Wilter of Lansing and Mrs. Arthur Word of Ohio. Two brothers, Henry of Grand Rapids and George of Birch Run, one sister, Mrs. Mary Campbell and one step daughter also survive. The funeral will take place from the Butler School this afternoon at 1 o'clock sun time. Rev. Mr. Hunt of Birch Run officiating. Burial will be in Birch Run.".

The death certificate of son, George W. Wright, lists his father as "John Wright". This error caused a many year delay in locating the correct parents of George W. Wright.
In the 1860 NY, Tioga, Tioga census the wife of James Wright is shown as "Anna". We believe this is in error as both James and Jemima are buried together in the Lounsbury Cemetery, Tioga County, NY. There is no evidence that James had other than one wife, Jemima Clark.
Find-A-Grave lists his birth year as 1810. This appears to be in error based on his age of 63 at the time of death in 1864 and the age reported on the 1850 and 1860 census.

"At a Surrogate's Court held at the Surrogate's office in the village of Owego, in and for the County of Tuoga, on the 30th day of January 1866. Present Thomas Farrington, Surrogate.
In the matter of the final accounting of the administration ??, of James Wright Deceased.
It appearing to the said court tha Sara Wright, Mary Wright, George Wright & Adeline Vaunostra, next of kin and heirs at law of the said deceased are infant's under the age of twenty-one years, having no general guardian, and Charles E. Parker of the town of Owego in the County of Tioga having consented to act as Special Guardian of the said infants in the premises, which consent is duly filed in the office of said County Surrogate.
It is THEREFORE ORDERED that the said Charles E. Parker ne, and he is herby appointed the Special Guardian of the the said infants for the purpose of appearing for, and taking care of their interests in this matter.".24

In the 1850 NY, Tompkins, Danby census, Jemima is listed as a person who cannot read or write. In the 1860 NY, Tioga, Tioga census, she is incorrectly shown as Anna with no indication that she cannot read or write.

Wright, Lena, 3107 E. Baldwin Rd., age 100, died Sunday, October 22nd, 1972, at Hurley Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 1972, at Colonial Chapel, Reigle Funeral Home, Rev. Floyd Wehner officiating. Committal services will be held at Parkview Memorial Gardens, Plymouth Mich. at 1pm. Mrs. Wright was born in Ingham County, Michigan, April 12th, 1872 and had lived in this area over 50 years. Mrs. Wright celebrated her 100th birthday last April. She was a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Ypsilanti. Surviving are: 3 daughters, Mrs. Eva Stewart of Orlando, Florida, Mrs. Lola Roe of Flint and Mrs. Lillian LaPratt of Keego Harbor, Michigan; 2 sons, LaVerne Wright of Grand Blanc and Earnest Wright of Flint.
