From the Flint Journal, April 27, 1986. Note that his obituary says he was born in Tennessee. However, the 1930 MI, Genesee, Genesee census says he was born in Michigan. He was only about a month old at the time of the census.

"POTTER, Albert L. - Age 56, died April 25, 1986, at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2PM Monday, Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Rd., Rev. T.B. Smith officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Potter was born in Tennessee, February 18, 1930 he had lived in Mt. Morris all his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Clio and UAW Local 659. He was employed by Chevrolet Manufacturing for 32½ years/ Surviving are: wife, Donna; 4 sons and daughter-in-laws, Douglas A. and Mary E. Potter, of Mt. Morris, Randy L. and Kerry Potter, of Louisiana, Gary L. and Alice K. Potter of Flint, Martin T. and Julie Potter of Flint; 8 grandchildren, Arron, Alisa, Brenda, Phillip, Lee, Mathew, Kirk, and Jamie; mother, Erma Potter, of Flint; 2 brothers, Robert Potter, of Davison, Jimmie and Carol Potter, of Flint; 5 sisters, Helen and Lee Palmer, of Mt. Morris, Frances and Morris Palmer, of Genesee, Netty and Wiliam Poland, of Flint, Jane and Richard Brady, of Tennessee, Sandra Potter, of Flint, good friends Bernard E. and Alice Irene Hill. "POTTER, Richard O. - 4461 East Stanley Road, Genesee, age 72, died Tuesday, April 17, 1973 at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Mt. Vernon Chapel, Brown Funeral Home, Rev. T.B. Smith officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Potter will lie in state at the Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Road. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday under the auspices of Welfare Lodge No. 517, F&AM. Visitation 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mr. Potter was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, August 10, 1900, and had been a resident of Flint and vicinity for the last 50 years. He was a member of Bray Road Baptist Church, life member of Welfare Lodge No. 517, F&AM, and he had been employed by Chevrolet Motor Division for 37 years, retiring in 1962. Surviving are: Wife, Erma, 5 daughters, Mrs. Lee (Helen) Palmer and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Poland, both of Flint, Mrs. Morris (Frances) Palmer and Mrs. Richard (Jane) Bradley, both of Genesee, and Miss Sandra Potter at home; 3 sons, Albert and Jimmy, both of Genesee, and Robert of Goodrich. 24 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Mrs. Callie Potter, Miss Edna Potter, and Mrs. Ethel Eleazer, all of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Lindell of Hampton Rhoades, Virgina; 4 brothers, Horace and Clifton, both of Clarksville, Tennessee, Edward of Flint and Calvin of North Branch.".

"POTTER, Erma Beatrice (Moore) - Age 94, a long-time Genesee resident, formerly of Flint, passed away at home early Friday morning. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2000 at Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Road with Pastor Steve Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. An Order of the Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday. She was the oldest living past Worthy Matron and lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Genesee Chapter #457. Her husband, Richard Potter; sons, Albert and Robert Potter preceded Erma in death. She is survived by her children, Helen Palmer and Husband Morris of Genesee, Betty Poland and husband Bill of Flint, Jane Bradley and husband Richard of Genesee, Jim Potter and wife Carole of Flint, Sandra Potter of Flint; daughter-in-law, Donna Potter of Mt. Morris; and many loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.".
