June 27, 1968 - Ronald Ford, 12-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ford was discharged yesterday from the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital where he had been a surgical patient for two weeks.

September 28, 1967 (25 Years Ago column) - Richard Ford was elected President of the Wellsboro High School senior class.

December 11, 1969 (25 Years Ago column) - Richard Ford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ford recently graduated from Honda Air Field, Texas and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant and received the silver wings of the Army Air Force.

November 29, 1951 - Lt. Richard Ford left on Monday for Mather Field, Sacramento, California where he will take a two months refresher course in radar-navigation before reporting to Randolph Field, Texas for assignment.

December 27, 1951 - Lt. Richard W. Ford of Mathers Field Air Force Vase, Calif., is visiting his wife at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Coolidge on Pearl street

April 4, 1968 (15 Years Ago column) - Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ford arrived here on Saturday following Lt. Ford's honorable discharge from the U.S. Airforce.

April 23, 1964 - "Richard W. (Dick) Ford, well known Wellsboro civic leader and businessman, announces his candidacy for Republican County Committeeman from the first ward of Wellsboro. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ford, Dick and his father own and operate the Wellsboro Candy Company. A graduate of the Wellsboro public schools and of Penn State University, Dick served in both World II and the Korean Conflict with an honorable discharge of First Lt. from the Air Force.
Active in community affairs since his return to Wellsboro, Dick has been associated with the Wellsboro Little League, currently serving as President, a director of the Chamber of Commerce, President of the Rotary Club, and this past year served as chairman of house to house solicitations for the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital building fund driv
In addition to his business and community interests, Dick has been active in the affairs of the First Presbyterian Church where he a Sunday School teacher and an elder.
Dick is married to the former Anne Coolidge and is the father of three children, Rick, Ron and Karen. An active Republican, Dick comes from a family long interested in the Republican Party of Tioga County."

October 11, 1973 - "Richard Ford Named Assistant Treasurer at CBT. The announcement of six new officer promotions was recently made by Commonwealth Bank & Trust Company president R. Glen Fenstermacher.
Richard W. Ford of the Wellsboro branch of CBT was named to the position of Assistant Treasurer. Now serving as the Wellsboro branch manager, Mr. Ford joined CBT in February of 1973. He formerly was the owner and operator of the Wellsboro Candy Company. He, his wife Anne and family reside in Wellsboro."

November 9, 1977 - "Attending the 3rd Annual Wellsboro Fire Department's Banquet, held Saturday are: Attorney and Mrs. Robert Cox Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ford, representing CBT, Wellsboro Fire Chief, John E. January 28, 1954 - "W.O. Smith Sells Candy Company to Roy Ford & So
The Wellsboro Candy Company, which has been owned and operated for the past thirty-two years by the family of the late Owen S. Smith, has been sold by the present owner, Willard O. Smith, to Roy Ford and his son, Richard Ford, who will take over the wholesale candy store now Mitchell block, on March 1.".

April 25, 1906 - "Daniel Ford, of Cherry Flats was severely injured as the result of a runaway at the Erie station in Mansfield on Monday forenoon of last week. His team became frightened at the cars and threw him from the wagon. He retained his grasp on the reins and was dragged across the railroad tracks and to one of the Crossley greenhouses, where the team came in contact with a telephone pole and stopped. Mr. Ford was taken to the Crossley residence, where it was discovered that one of his knees was badly wrenched and that his body was considerable contused. Mr. Ford's two little sons, who were with him in wagon, very fortunately escaped injury."

December 28, 1940 - "Daniel H. Ford, aged 87 years, of Charleston, a former County Commissioner, died Dec. 25 at his home in Cherryflats. He was born Nov. 16, 1862 at Mainesburg, son of Jerome and Mary Gardener Ford.
He is survived by his widow, two sons, Guy Ford, of Mansfield, R.D. 1, and Roy M. Ford, of Wellsboro, four daughters, Mrs. Leon Simerson, of Covington, R.D.; Mrs Lydia Johnson, of Wellsboro, Mrs. Maynard Meckes, of Tyrone, PA., one brother, Clark G. Ford, of Watertown, Wid., one sister, Mrs Ethelyn Phelps, of Liberty, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great,great-grandchild.
The funeral was held yesterday at the Cherryflats Baptist church, Rev. R.D. Sensabaugh officiating, burial in the Cherryflats cemetery.".

March 2, 1938 - "Cherryflats Dinner for Children's Aid Was Very Successful.
The Children's Aid Society of Tioga county wishes to give a rousing cheer of thanks to the Ladies Aid Society of Cherryflats. Mrs. Daniel H. Ford, president of the organization, last week presented to the Wellsboro drive chairman, C.E. Bennett, $46.50, proceeds of the dinner which was served in her home February 18."

March 20, 1946 - "Mr. and Mrs. D.H. Ford were given a surprise party Wednesday evening on their 57th wedding anniversary. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Passmore, daughter, Roberta, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Wheeer, daughter, Helen Marie, son, Gairy, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ford, Richard, Mrs. Lydia Johnson, Mrs. Mollie English, daughter, Margaret, of Wellsboro, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Simerson and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard English and son Douglas."

September 27, 1950 - "Mrs. Josephine E. Ford, aged 82 years, a life long resident of Cherryflats, Tioga county, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leon Summerson, of Cherryflats. She was the widow of Daniel Ford, former Tioga County Commissioner.
Her survivors are: four daughters, Mrs. Summerson, Mrs. Doyle English, of Greenville, S.C.; Mrs. Lydia Johnson, of Wellsboro; Mrs. Maynard Mekes, of Tyrone; a so, Roy M. Ford, of Wellsboro; sister, Mrs. Lena Sparling, of Mansfield; a brother, Elmiron Bailey, of Wellsboro; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday in the Cherryflats Baptist church, the Rev. R.D. Sensabaugh officiating; burial in the Cherryflats cemetery.".

August 17, 1967 - "Mrs. Cytheria B. Ford, 64, wife of Roy M. Ford, of 58½ Walnut Street, Wellsboro, died Sunday, August 13, 1967 in the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Born August 29, 1902, in Covington, she was the daughter of James and Kitty Rockwell Blair. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wellsboro.
Mrs. Ford was a past matron of the Mary Wells Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Jean Houser of Montoursville; son, Richard W. of Wellsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Orlando Carson, of Wellsboro, Mrs. Ralph Sampson, of Crooked Creek, RD, and Mrs. Raymond Shaw, of Wellsboro RD 1, three brothers, Paul Blair, of Covington, Glen and Wilbur Blair, both of Wellsboro, and six grandchildren.
Funeral was held Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Wellsboro, the Rev, Gordon Abrams and Rev. Jack Minear officiating. Burial was in the Wellsboro Cemetery. Arrangements by Tuesey Funeral Home.".

October 11, 1951 - "Miss Anne Morrell Coolidge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond M. Coolidge and Richard William Ford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy M. Ford were united in marriage last Sunday at 3: p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in a single ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Robert W.L. Mark, before an alter decorated with white pom pons, greens and lighted tapers.".
