January 1, 1947 - "Mrs. Iva Isabelle Bartlett died Sunday at her home at Tompkins, near Lawrenceville. She was born Oct 19, 1884 in Farmington, daughter of William and Betsy Smith Hemmingway.
Surviving are her husband, Harland Bartlett of Tompkins, her mother, Mrs Betsy Hemmingway of CrookedCreek; sons, William Davis of Corning; LeRoy Davis of Elkland and Ernest Davis of Elmira; daughters, Mrs. Floyd Brockway of Lawrenceville; Mrs. Floyd Gee of Nelson; step-daughter, Mrs. Jennie Burrows of Lawrenceville; sisters, Mrs. Laura Mignon of Buffalo; Mrs. Ruby Boyce of Elmira; Mrs. Harriett Root of Nelson. Mrs Bessie Helm of Elmira and Mess Jennie Hemmingway of Crookedcreek; brother, Fred Hemingway of Crookedcreek; several grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at the Christian And Missionary Alliance church at Crookedcreek at 2 p.m., Rev. Albert Beckwith of Nelson and Rev. John Jones of Crookedcreek, officiating; burial in the Hammond cemetery.".
