"The many friends of Mrs. Pearl (Bartlett) Comfort were saddened when it became known that she had died at her home in Charleston last Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Two years ago last June Mrs. Comfort suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she gradually declined until a few days before her death, when she suffered another stroke, which caused her death. Had Mrs. Comfort lived until July 23 she would have been 43 years old. In February 1898, she was married to William H. Comfort and to this union seven children were born, five of whom survive. They are Truman D. Comfort of Trenton, N.J.; Mrs. Cecil Perry, of Charleston, and Nellie, Alfred and Raymond at home; besides her husband and children she also leaves to mourn, her father, David Bartlett, of Tioga; one sister. Mrs. Emma Kennedy of Mansfield; two brothers, Lawrence Bartlett of Holiday and Harley Bartlett of Mill Creek, and four grandchildren. Mrs Comfort was a kind wife, a loving mother and a good neighbor. The funeral was held from the M.E. church in Tioga Sunday at one o'clock, the Rev. F.A. Phelps, of the Free Methodist church in Corning, officiating.
