"Covert, Howard L., Fort Myers, Florida. Former resident of Vassar passed away suddenly Monday, Sept. 12, 1983, at Community Hospital in Florida. Age 78 years. He was born Aug. 24, 1905, in Mt. Morris. He married Grace Walker Dec. 11, 1954, in Angola, Ind. She survives him. He was a member of the Vassar Masonic Lodge No. 163 F&AM and Saginaw Council R.&S.M. No. 20, the St. Bernard Commandery No. 16 and the Saginaw Valley Chapter No. 31 R.A.M. Mr Covert was a paternmaker at Saginaw Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry retiring in 1967. He was a marine officer for the Tuscola County Sheriff Department for ten years. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. William (Betsy) Atwood, Vassar two sons, Howard L. Covert Jr., Lansing; Richard J. Capel, Lansing; five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Rethea Miner, Fort Myers, Fla.; two nephews. Funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Clark Funeral Home in Vassar, Rev. Alan DeGraw will officiate with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. Thursday. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.".

"George W. Wright, 80 years old, died Monday at his home in Birch Run. He was born in Tioga county, New York, Feb. 5th, 1852 and was married in 1874 to Celia Weeks. She died about 12 years ago. Surviving are two sons and three daughters: Lester of Detroit, Mrs. Clara Covert of Saginaw, Arthur, Mrs. Burdena Hicks and Mrs. Hattie Zuellig of Birch Run. He also leaves 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wright had been a Mason for 50 years, and was a life member of Vienna Lodge No. 205, F. & A.M. of Clio. The funeral will take place Thursday with a private service at the home at 2 p.m. At ??5 p.m. there will be a public service under auspices of the Vienna lodge at the Birch Run M.P. church. Rev. H.E. Kuh?man will officiate and burial will be in Birch Run cemetery."

From the Clio Messenger, May 13, 1920 - "OBITUARY - Mrs. G.W. Wright, of Birch Run, passed away at a hospital in Saginaw, Tuesday morning, May 11, following operative treatment which she underwent on the 3d inst. She was born in Vienna township, April 26, 1859, her maiden name being Clara E. Wicks [Celia E. Weeks], and was united in marriage to G.W. Wright 47 years ago. During her entire married life she had resided in Birch Rin., and through many excellencies of characgter had endeared herself to a very wide circle of friends. Mrs. Wright was the mother of si children, of whom one, Mrs. Myrtle Foster, passed away none years ago. Those living are L.A. Wright, formerly of Clio, now of Detroit, Arthur Wright, Mrsl Berdena Hicks and Mrs. Hattie Zuelling, of Birch Rn, and Mrs. Clara Covert, of Saginaw. Beside these children, she is survived by her husband and fourteen grandchildren; also by one brother, George Wicks [Weeks], of Saginaw, and one sister, Mrs. Julia Eckart, of New Pensington, Penn. Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon from the late residence of deceased in Borch Run. Interment was in Birch Run cemetery.".

August 17, 2005 - "GRACE ERMA COVERT. Grace Erma Covert passed away on August 6, 2005 at the Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth.
Grace was born November 24, 1923 in Old Forge, Pennsylvania the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney and Grace (Bevan) Staff.
She and Howard L. Covert were united in marriage on December 11, 1954 in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death September 12, 1983.
Grace was a member of the Vassar United Methodist Church and a life member and past patron of The Millington O.E.S. Chapter #390.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Richard and wife Joan Capel of Lansing, Elizabeth? Betsy? and husband William Atwood of Vassar, Howard and wife Terri Covert of Leigh Acres, Florida; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Rothwell of Ocala, Florida; her special cousins, Ruth Janes and Gloria Payne.
In tribute to her, services were held on August 9, 2005 at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. The O.E.S. #390 conducted a memorial service which was followed by her funeral service, conducted by Pastor Wally Reams. Cremation followed.
