May 25, 1949 - "Port Allegany - Mrs. Ethel M. Townsend, 46, a resident of Port Allegany for the past 40 years, died at her home, 210 Smith Ave. Port Allegany, Tuesday morning at 8:50 o'clock.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and active in the choir of the church for the past 15 years. She was also a past matron of Wysteria Chapter of Rebekah Lodge of Port Allegany and a member of the Myrtle Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Townsend; one son, Robert Townsend of Kane, a daughter, Mrs. Robert Baker, Port Allegany, and her father, Horace Redington, also of Port Allegany.
Funeral services will be held at the Gallup Funeral Home, Port Allegany, Friday at 1:30 p.m. followed by additional services at the First Baptist at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Earl B. Williams, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany. Friends may call at the Gallup Funeral Home.".

September 10, 1952 - "PORT ALLEGANY - Sept 9 - Horace H. Redington, 75, was taken ill at his work at the Pierce Glass Co., this afternoon and died at his home at 5 Hickory St., about 4 p.m.
Mr. Redington was born in Tioga County, April 28, 1877, and attended schools there. He was employed at the old Windoville Co. at Covington, Pa., and came here with that firm in 1911 as a snapper. He has worked for the Pierce Glass Co. for the past 28 years.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mae Gamble, Port Allegany; two brothers, Wallace Redington, Boilvar, N.Y., and Ben Redington, Port Allegany; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home starting tomorrow night. Funeral services will be held at Walter's at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Earl B. Williams, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.".

July 31, 1950 - "Redington Family Has Its Reunion In Port Allegany - The Redington family reunion held yesterday at the Port Allegany Community park was attended by 53 members of the family. A tureen dinner was served at 1 o'clock and the afternoon was spent in swimming, games, and visiting.
The committee in charge was the officers for this year's reunion: president, Twila Redington; secretary, Verna Gamble. Harry Redington was elected president for next year's reunion which will be held the first Sunday in August. Mrs. Lloyd Shark, Bradford, was elected secretary.
Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Redington and son, Mr. and Mrs. William Tatt, Mr. and Mrs. William Redington, Bolivar, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sandberg and son, Duke Center; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Redington and daughter, Knapp Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sherk, Bradford; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larson and daughter, Mt. Jewett; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Richardson, Richburg, N.Y.; Mrs. Carrie Applegate, Akron O.; Mrs June Davis and children, Belfast, N.Y.".

August 26, 1890 - "Mr. Horace Bartlett, one of our citizens had a stroke of paralysis last Sunday evening. His recovery is doubtful."

August 26, 1890 - "Mr. Horace Bartlett, of Tioga, was rendered perfectly helpless by a stroke of paralysis on Sunday of last week. He is 74 years of age and his recovery is not anticipated."

April 8, 1896 - "Horace Bartlett died at Painter Run April 3rd, age 82. Born Warren Co., NY., left Joseph, David, Clark, all of Tioga twp.; Mrs. Emerson Peck of Lambs Creek; and Mrs. Wm. Redington of Covington."
