October 17, 1952 - "PORT ALLEGANY, Oct 16, Susan Redington was guest of honor at a dinner party honoring her seventh birthday Wednesday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Redington, Smith Avenue. Decorations, including the birthday cake, were in the Halloween spirit. Games were played and gifts were presented the honor guest.
Those attending were Mary Kay Bayline, Cynthia Baker, Judy Connolly, Dale Brown, Sharon Hoffman, Darlene Brown, Rickey Summerson, Michael Spangler, Cynthia Sawyer, Dicky Van Nette, Cathy Redington, Elaine Painter, Mary Margaret Connolly and Bobby Healy.".

December 27, 1993 - "Harry E. Redington, 81, of 104 Smith Ave. died Friday in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born Nov. 1, 1912, in Coudersport, a son of Levi and Alta Hosmer Redington. On June 13, 1934, he married Agnes DuBots who survives.
Mr. Redington was a retired supervisor of the box shop of the Pierce Glass Co., now Ball-Incon Corp.
He was a 1931 graduate of Port Allegany High School and later graduated from Westbrook Academy in Olean, N.Y.
He was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church; a member of Knights of Columbus, third degree; member of Loyal Order of Moose 160, of Port Allegany; member of the Smethport Country Club where he was past president of the Couples Club; a member of the Fish and Game Club; and past member of the Port Allegany Volunteer Fire Company.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Ann Marie Payne of Eldred, Susan Wykoff of Philipsburg, and Lois Montag of Johnstown; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, James Redington of Randolph, N.Y.; two sisters, Stella "Ginny" Oviatt of Lock Haven, and Marjorie Benson of Eldred; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after noon today at the Switzer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles R. Schmitt, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Gabriel's Catholic Cemetery.
The Rosary will be recited by the Knights of Columbus at 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. A Scriptural wake service will follow at 9 p.m.".

April 9, 1951 - "Levi Redington, 71, Coudersport, died unexpectedly at 5 p.m. Sunday while visiting at the home of his son, James Redington, 84 Katherine St., here. Mr. Redington had retired last October and since then had resided with his family in Coudersport.
He resided here for 40 years. Born in Tioga, Pa., Sept. 27, 1879, Mr. Redington had been a glass worker with the now defunct Window Lite Glass Co., the Mississippi Glass Co. and the Pierce Glass Co.
Surviving are his wife, Alta; three daughters, Mrs. Larry Lohman, and Virginia Redington, Coudersport, and Marjorie, Port Allegany; three sons, Lawrence, Bradford, Harry and James, Port Allegany; one sister, Mrs. Roland Gamble, Port Allegany; three brothers, Ben and Horace, Port Allegany, and Wallace, Bolivar; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gallup Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl B. Williams, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, here.
Friends may call at the Gallup Funeral Home after 6 p/m today.

July 31, 1950 - "Redington Family Has Its Reunion In Port Allegany - The Redington family reunion held yesterday at the Port Allegany Community park was attended by 53 members of the family. A tureen dinner was served at 1 o'clock and the afternoon was spent in swimming, games, and visiting.
The committee in charge was the officers for this year's reunion: president, Twila Redington; secretary, Verna Gamble. Harry Redington was elected president for next year's reunion which will be held the first Sunday in August. Mrs. Lloyd Shark, Bradford, was elected secretary.
Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Redington and son, Mr. and Mrs. William Tatt, Mr. and Mrs. William Redington, Bolivar, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sandberg and son, Duke Center; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Redington and daughter, Knapp Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sherk, Bradford; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larson and daughter, Mt. Jewett; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Richardson, Richburg, N.Y.; Mrs. Carrie Applegate, Akron O.; Mrs June Davis and children, Belfast, N.Y.".

June 13, 1952 - "Mrs. Alta Mae Redington, widow of Levi Redington, formerly of Port Allegany, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Lohman, Coudersport, at 8:15 p.m. yesterday.
She was born at Coudersport, May 30, 1892, the daughter of George Hosmer and Stella Mae Ladue Hosmer, and was married in Coudersport July 1, 1908.
Surviving are her three sons, Lawrence Redington, Bradford, and Harry and James Redington, Port Allegany; three daughters, Mrs. Lohman, Mrs. Virginia Oviatt and Miss Marjorie Jane Redington, all of Coudersport; one sister, Mrs. Charles Blauvelt, Coudersport, 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Gallup Funeral Home, Port Allegany, with the Rev. George Saylor, superintendent of the Bradford District of the Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.".
