January 25, 1951 - "No one was injured in a two car collision about 7:45 p.m. yesterday on Route 46, just outside the city limits.
According to State Police who investigated, a 1940 sedan, owned and operated by Lloyd Sherk, Bradford, R.D. 2, was traveling west on Route 46 when it attempted to make a turn and a 1940 coupe operated by Russell Marks, also of R.D. 2, struck the Sherk car on the right side.
Total damage was estimated at $100 for both cars.".

March 31, 1950 - "Mrs. Rosco Sanderson was hostess to a shower at her home honoring Mrs. Lloyd Sherk the former Miss Katherine Redington whose marriage took place last Saturday. Those attending were Mrs. Clair Burdick, Bolivar, N.Y., Mrs. Dorothy Iddings, Ptgatv Nelson, Ernie Higlev, Mary Jane Black, Peg Morrison, Mrs. Jim Hepfer, Edna Dubetsky, Mrs. Charles Sanderson and the hostess. The honored guest received many gifts.".

August 23, 1950 - "Knapp Creek - Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Reddington and family, residents for more than 27 years, were honor guests at a farewell party given by the WSCS of the Knapp Creek Methodist Church at the church hall. The family is moving to Bradford. There were 85 guests present."

August 4, 1952 - "Fifty Four persons attended the fifth annual Redington fmily reunion today at Port Allegany Community Park.
Lawrence Redington of Bradford was elected president for the 1953 reunion. Mrs. Harold Davis, Belfast, N.Y., was chosen secretary-treasurer.
Outgoing officials were James Redington, Port Allegany, president, and Mrs. Leonard Sanberg of Duke Center, secretary-treasurer.
Dinner was served at 1:30 p.m. and the afternoon spent in games and swimming.
Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Redington and daughter Janet, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sherk and son, Steven, of Bradford, Mr. and Mrs. William Tapp and son, Fred, Mr. and Mrs. DIck Redington, Mr. and MRs. Howard Richardson and family, Bolivar, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davis and family, Belfast, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Benson, Mrs. Mary Lohman, and daughters, Shirley adn Grace, Mrs. Virgiinia Oviatt and daughters, Joan and Faye, Couderspport; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larson and daughter, Marlene, Mt. Jewett; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sanberg and son, Sandy, Duke Center; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Redington, Erie; Mr.s Frank Dickson and son, Freddie, Akkron, O."

April 8, 1983 - "Lawrence E. Redington, 73, of 281 E. Main St. died Thursday in the Bradford Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 29, 1909, in Port Allegany, a son of Levi and Alta Hosmer Redington.
On March 1, 1929, in Olean, N.Y., he married Pauline Gallup, who survives.
Mr. Redington was a retired, self employed salesman for the Sonotone Hearing Aid Co.
He was a member of the East End Presbyterian Church, Northern Lodge 555 F&AM of Duke Center, and the Coudersport Consistory.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Lawrence E. Redington of Northumberland, and two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Sherk of Limestone, N.Y., and Mrs. Janet Daniels of Union Springs, N.Y., four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Harry F. Redington of Port Allegany and James L. Redington of Randolph, N.Y., two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Oviatt of Lock Haven and Mrs. Marjorie Benson of Eldred; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Cahill Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Vern O. Mueller, pastor of the East End Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery, Smethport.".

April 9, 1951 - "Levi Redington, 71, Coudersport, died unexpectedly at 5 p.m. Sunday while visiting at the home of his son, James Redington, 84 Katherine St., here. Mr. Redington had retired last October and since then had resided with his family in Coudersport.
He resided here for 40 years. Born in Tioga, Pa., Sept. 27, 1879, Mr. Redington had been a glass worker with the now defunct Window Lite Glass Co., the Mississippi Glass Co. and the Pierce Glass Co.
Surviving are his wife, Alta; three daughters, Mrs. Larry Lohman, and Virginia Redington, Coudersport, and Marjorie, Port Allegany; three sons, Lawrence, Bradford, Harry and James, Port Allegany; one sister, Mrs. Roland Gamble, Port Allegany; three brothers, Ben and Horace, Port Allegany, and Wallace, Bolivar; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gallup Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl B. Williams, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, here.
Friends may call at the Gallup Funeral Home after 6 p/m today.

June 13, 1952 - "Mrs. Alta Mae Redington, widow of Levi Redington, formerly of Port Allegany, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Lohman, Coudersport, at 8:15 p.m. yesterday.
She was born at Coudersport, May 30, 1892, the daughter of George Hosmer and Stella Mae Ladue Hosmer, and was married in Coudersport July 1, 1908.
Surviving are her three sons, Lawrence Redington, Bradford, and Harry and James Redington, Port Allegany; three daughters, Mrs. Lohman, Mrs. Virginia Oviatt and Miss Marjorie Jane Redington, all of Coudersport; one sister, Mrs. Charles Blauvelt, Coudersport, 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Gallup Funeral Home, Port Allegany, with the Rev. George Saylor, superintendent of the Bradford District of the Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.".

February 25, 1954 - "Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Redington, 11 Blaisdell Ave. will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary March 1. Open house will be held in their honor at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Sherk, 1297 E. Main St., from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Friends and relatives have been invited to attend.
The couple was married March 1, 1929 by the Rev. C.C. Shedd, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Olean, N.Y. Mrs. Redington is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gallup, Smethport.
In addition to Mrs. Sherk, the couple has another daughter, Janet and a son, Larry at home. There are two grandchildren, Stevie and Linda Kay Sherk.
Mr. Redington is a district manager of Sonotone of Bradford.".

August 8, 1950 - "Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gallup, Smethport, were guests of honor at an open house held in their home on Main St. Sunday afternoon on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Lawrence Redington, State Line, Pa., and Mrs. Lawrence Okerlund, Curwentsville, Pa., daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Gallup were hostesses.
Mrs. Gallup was the former Maude Frost, Smethport, Mr. and Mrs. Gallup were united in marriage, August 3, 1910 at the home of the bride's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Milroy of Mechanic St. The late Rev. W.A. Harris, pastor of the Methodist Church, performed the ceremony. Attending the couple were Miss Eva Huffman and Fred Biever, both of Smethport.
Mr. Gallup worked in the Smethport Post Office for 32 years, retiring 16 years ago when he was the assistant postmaster. At present he is justice of the peace in Smethport.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Gallup have always been active in the Methodist Church and various organizations in Smethport. Besides their two daughters, Mrs. Redington and Mrs. Okerlund, they have five grandchildren, Mrs. Lloyd Sherk, Bradford; Janet Redington, State Line; Kenneth, Susan and Mary Lynn Okerlund, Curwentsville.
Many persons from this area attended the open house among them was Miss Huffman, maid of honor, at the Gallups' wedding.".
