January 2, 1954 - "ALLEGANY - Four teenagers were injured when the car in which they were riding crashed into a tree on the back road to Ceres, near Rt. 17, at 2 o'clock yesterday morning. State Police from the Allegany Substation reported yesterday, Police said that the car apparently went into a skid before striking the tree on the right side of the road.
The driver, Frederic W. Tapp, 18, Bolivar, R.D. 1, suffered a lacerated left knee and right eye, multiple bruises and a possible skull fracture.
Injuries suffered by other occupants in the car included Donald L. Shaner, 18, Little Genesee, R.D. 1, lacerated eye, bruised nose and ankle injuries; Darwin D. Tubbs, 18, Bolivar R.D. 1, lacerated left elbow and possible back injury, and Gary E. Wood, 16, Little Genesee, facial brush burns and possible left ankle injure.
All four youths were taken to the Olean General Hospital where Tubbs and Tapp were held for X-rays and further observation.".

May 14, 1994 - "BOLIVAR, N.Y - Grace R. Tapp, formerly of Bolivar, died Thursday in the Bethany Center, Horseheads, following a long illness.
She was born April 18, 1905, in Coudersport, Pa., the daughter of Wallace and Blanche Fisher Redington. On May 4, 1929, in Port Allegany, Pa., she married William W. Tapp, who died May 5, 1984.
Mrs. Tapp was a graduate of Port Allegany High School and the former Westbrook Academy in Olean.
She had been employed by the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C. for many years, and she and her husband had operated the Tapp Insurance Agency in Bolivar.
She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church and a past member of Chapter 109, Order of Eastern Star, of Bolivar.
She is survived by a son, Fred Tapp of Olean; a sister, the Rev. Twila Chamberlain Richardson of Clinton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Redington and Stanley Redington.
Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., Olean, where funeral and committal services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Revere Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.".

July 31, 1950 - "Redington Family Has Its Reunion In Port Allegany - The Redington family reunion held yesterday at the Port Allegany Community park was attended by 53 members of the family. A tureen dinner was served at 1 o'clock and the afternoon was spent in swimming, games, and visiting.
The committee in charge was the officers for this year's reunion: president, Twila Redington; secretary, Verna Gamble. Harry Redington was elected president for next year's reunion which will be held the first Sunday in August. Mrs. Lloyd Shark, Bradford, was elected secretary.
Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Redington and son, Mr. and Mrs. William Tatt, Mr. and Mrs. William Redington, Bolivar, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sandberg and son, Duke Center; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Redington and daughter, Knapp Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sherk, Bradford; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larson and daughter, Mt. Jewett; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Richardson, Richburg, N.Y.; Mrs. Carrie Applegate, Akron O.; Mrs June Davis and children, Belfast, N.Y.".
