July 31, 1950 - "Redington Family Has Its Reunion In Port Allegany - The Redington family reunion held yesterday at the Port Allegany Community park was attended by 53 members of the family. A tureen dinner was served at 1 o'clock and the afternoon was spent in swimming, games, and visiting.
The committee in charge was the officers for this year's reunion: president, Twila Redington; secretary, Verna Gamble. Harry Redington was elected president for next year's reunion which will be held the first Sunday in August. Mrs. Lloyd Shark, Bradford, was elected secretary.
Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Redington and son, Mr. and Mrs. William Tatt, Mr. and Mrs. William Redington, Bolivar, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sandberg and son, Duke Center; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Redington and daughter, Knapp Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sherk, Bradford; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Larson and daughter, Mt. Jewett; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Richardson, Richburg, N.Y.; Mrs. Carrie Applegate, Akron O.; Mrs June Davis and children, Belfast, N.Y.".

July 15, 1991 - "FRIENDSHIP, N.Y. - Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today for Viola G. Redington, 81, of East Hill Road who died Saturday at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville following a lengthy illness.
Friend will be received from 2 p.m. until the tome of the services at Truesdell Funeral Home with the Rev. Cornelius C. DeGroat, pastor of the United Church of Friendship, officiating.
Born March 19, 1910, in Port Allegany, Pa., Mrs. Redington was the daughter of George and Lottie Mowrey Smith. On March 26, 1927, in Port Allegany, she married Ralph A. Redington, who died April 29, 1984.
She attended the Port Allegany (Pa.) school system and was a resident of the Bolivar-Richburg-Friendship area for most of her life.
For several years she was employed by Acme Electric in Cuba and had owned and operated Ma's Restaurant in Friendship, retiring in 1965. She was also a past member of the Bolivar Firemen's Auxiliary.
Surviving are one son, George Redington of Rochester; two grandsons, three brothers, John Smith of Richburg, Roy Smith of Port Allegany, and William Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; five sisters, Billie Chandler of Ashtabula, Ohio, Lottie Boorum and Mary Ora Barber, both of Rochester, Flossie Bosworth of Port Allegany, and Marie Bickford of Smethport, Pa., and several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by two brothers.
Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.".
