September 8, 1947 - "Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Alice ? Wells, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Wells of Millerton, to Jack Kingsley, of Millerton, son of Mrs. Earl Phillips, of Millerton and Edwin Kingsley of Mansfield.
The Rev. George Evans performed the double ring ceremony in the Alder Run Baptist Church Friday, Aug. 29, at 8 p.m. Wedding music was presented by Harry Dailey with Mrs. M. P. Enright as soloist.
Mrs. Emmet Stephens, of Millerton, was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Dolores Wells, sister of the bride and Miss Joyce Tobey, of Millerton. The Misses Marlene and Mary Bruce, of Mansfield, cousins of the bridegroom, were trainbearers.
Bruce Dailey served as Mr. Kingsley's best man and ushers were Emett Stephens, Claude Gilbert and Henry Wells, all of Millerton.
A reception at the Alder Run Grange Hall followed the ceremony, after which the couple left for Columbus, O. They will reside in Millerton.
The bride is a graduate of Millerton High School and is employed at Fairway Spring Company, Elmira, NY. Mr. Kingsley attended Mansfield and Millerton schools and spent three years in the Army Air Force, two of which were spent in the South Pacific. He is now an employee of American La-France F?? . . . , Elmira.".
