"SPROUL, Francis – Of Houghton Lake, age 72, died Monday. January 3, 2000 at Mclaren Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will he held at 11 AM Friday,January 7, 2000 at Brown Funeral Home. 1616 Davison Road, Flint. Ml with
Pastor Richard 0 Walston officiating. Burial will follow at Roscommon township Cemetery in Houghton Lake. Visitation will be held from 11-9 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Francis was born on April 20, 1927, in Birch Run, Ml and
lived in Flint most of his life, retiring to Houghlon Lake in 1982. He was employed at Buick Motor Division for 30 years, served in the U. S. Army during WWII, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and worked for TDM Real Estate after retiring. On December 9, 1952, he was united in marriage to Kane Sikutrick. Francis is survived by his wife, Katie, children, Sandra and George Worley of Flint, Matthew (Mike) and Diana Sproul of Flint, grandsons, Michael, Dennis, Matthew, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Noele; mother, Rose of Birch Run.".

"SPROUL, Charles W. - Of Birch, age 78, died Saturday, October 27, 1979 at St. Joseph Hospital, Flint. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Monday October 29, 1979 at the Krauss Funeral Home, Birch Run, Rev. Paul E. Donihue officiating. Entombment in Flint Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Krauss Funeral Home, Birch Run, after 7 this evening. A Memorial Service will be conducted by Birch Run Lodge No. 514 F&AM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Those who so desire may give memorials to the Retarded Children's Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home. Mr. Sproul was born in Birch Run Twp., August 30,-1901, and had lived in Birch Run area all of his life. He married Rose M. Wright in 1922 in Saginaw. Mr. Sproul was a member of the Birch Run Lodge No. 514 F&AM and had been employed by Buick Motor, Flint, Factory 6, for 42 years, retiring in 1963. Surviving are: Wife: Rose; 1 son, Francis (Frank) Sproul of Flint; 4 grandchildren: Mrs. Don (Sandra) Cassiday, Mrs. Sherry Bader both of Birch Run, Charles M. Sproul of Saginaw and Matthew F. Sproul of Flint; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and 3 sisters; Oscar Sproul of Lansing, Harold Sproul of Houghton Lake, Mrs. Lottie Mae Wright of Flint, Mrs. Gertrude Cooper of Birch Run and Mrs. Nellie Wager of Flint; son: Carl Sproul predeceased him in 1977.".

April 6, 1922 - "Charles Sproul and Miss Rose Wright were united in marriage at the parsonage of the Rev. G.H. Curts at Saginaw, Sunday. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sproul. The young couple will make their home at Pine Run where the groom has rented a farm. The best wishes of all go with them on their journey through life.".

January 2, 1919 - "Henry Wright, of Saginaw, is making an extended visit at the home of his brother, George Wright."

March 13, 1919 - "Miss Gladys Wright, of Detroit, recently visited at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Wright. [Birch Run]"

1926-02-04 - "George Wright is quite sick at his home north and east of the village [Birch Run]."

Obituary from the Saginaw Daily News, March 22, 1932.

"George W. Wright, 80 years old, died Monday at his home in Birch Run. He was born in Tioga county, New York, Feb. 5th, 1852 and was married in 1874 to Celia Weeks. She died about 12 years ago. Surviving are two sons and three daughters: Lester of Detroit, Mrs. Clara Covert of Saginaw, Arthur, Mrs. Burdena Hicks and Mrs. Hattie Zuellig of Birch Run. He also leaves 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wright had been a Mason for 50 years, and was a life member of Vienna Lodge No. 205, F. & A.M. of Clio. The funeral will take place Thursday with a private service at the home at 2 p.m. At ??5 p.m. there will be a public service under auspices of the Vienna lodge at the Birch Run M.P. church. Rev. H.E. Kuh?man will officiate and burial will be in Birch Run cemetery."

From the Clio Messenger, May 13, 1920 - "OBITUARY - Mrs. G.W. Wright, of Birch Run, passed away at a hospital in Saginaw, Tuesday morning, May 11, following operative treatment which she underwent on the 3d inst. She was born in Vienna township, April 26, 1859, her maiden name being Clara E. Wicks [Celia E. Weeks], and was united in marriage to G.W. Wright 47 years ago. During her entire married life she had resided in Birch Rin., and through many excellencies of characgter had endeared herself to a very wide circle of friends. Mrs. Wright was the mother of si children, of whom one, Mrs. Myrtle Foster, passed away none years ago. Those living are L.A. Wright, formerly of Clio, now of Detroit, Arthur Wright, Mrsl Berdena Hicks and Mrs. Hattie Zuelling, of Birch Rn, and Mrs. Clara Covert, of Saginaw. Beside these children, she is survived by her husband and fourteen grandchildren; also by one brother, George Wicks [Weeks], of Saginaw, and one sister, Mrs. Julia Eckart, of New Pensington, Penn. Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon from the late residence of deceased in Borch Run. Interment was in Birch Run cemetery.".
