9. viii. EUNICE CROOK (Thomas) was born December 12, 1732 in Nantucket, Massachusetts, where she lived until her family moved in 1743 to Haddam, Connecticut. She was married in Haddam, on her seventeenth birthday, December 14, 1749 to Stephen, son of Ephraim and Deborah (Brainerd) Bailey of Haddam. He was a brother of her sister Elizabeth's husband and a cousin of her sister Lydia's husband. The homesteads of the Crook and Bailey families were closely situated in the northern part of the township, and this fact may account for their common interests and marriages.
