March 16, 1967 - "Pfd. Stephen Greenfield, who has spent the past nine weeks taking a course in Mechanical Engineering at Camp Lejeune, N.C. graduated on March 3, ranking second in his class. Pfc Greenfield spent last weekend at his home here and had as his guest Pfc. Dennis Porter."
August 15, 1968 - "Marine Lance Corporal, Stephen Greenfield has received the Purple Heart Award for fragmentation wounds received during a mortar attack against his unit in South Vietnam."
July 10, 1969 - "Stephen Greenfield arrived last week from Vietnam and was honorably discharged from service on the West Coast, having completed his term of enlistment with the U.S. Marines.
James Greenfield, who has been spending a 30-day leave at his home here, left on Sunday to return for his second tour in Vietnam.".

December 31, 1942 - "Lt. James Greenfield has returned to Ft. Monmouth, N.J., after spending a ten-day leave with his wife here and with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leon Greenfield, in Corning. Lt. Greenfield was graduated Dec 18 from the Officer's Candidate School at Ft. Monmouth and after a six-weeks Radio Specialty course will be assigned to duty with the Signal Corps."
September 2, 1954 - "James Greenfield returns to the Wellsboro Plant after completing four years of services with the U.S. Army Signal Corps with the rank of Captain. A native of Himrod, New York, he was educated in Corning schools and joined Corning Glass Works in 1954 at the Wellsboro Plant, serving in various capacities until he left for military service.".

April 23, 1930 - "LEE WILCOX INJURED - His Two Daughters Escaped When Train Wrecked His Sedan - Elmire People Injured Sunday. When a sedan driven by Lee Wilcox, of Wellsboro, stalled on the Pennsylvania avenue crossing on the Erie Railroad in Elmira Saturday afternoon, it was struck and demolished by the Erie Special, No. 2, eastbound, but the three occupants of the car escaped with slight injuries.
In the car with Mr. Wilcox were his daughters, Miss Luva Wilcox, of 251 Lormore street, Elmira, and Miss Ida Wilcox, of Wellsboro. The former two were not injured while the latter received a slight cut on the hand.
When the accident occurred Mr. Wilcox's machine had been proceeding north on Pennsylvania avenue. The car slowed on the grade leading to the tracks and stalled on the south track. The three occupants succeeded in vacating the car just before the train hit it.
Mr. Wilcox told the police that he and his daughter, Ida, had driven to Elmira Saturday to take Miss Luva Wilcox to her home in Wellsboro, and that they had started home when the accident occurred.
At 8:30 p.m. Saturday Mr. Wilcox informed police headquarters that a black leather billfold had been missing since the accident. According to his statement, the billfold contained either $38 or $39 in bills.

January 29, 1970 - "Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Wendy Lou Sherman and Stephan Alan Greenfield both of Wellsboro on January 10, 1970 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
The newly-weds are residing at Athens where Mr. Greenfield is employed at the Robert Packer Hospital at Sayre."
May 21, 1971 - "A baby boy John Mark Greenfield was born to Mr. and Mrs. Stephen A. Greenfield on May 7, 1970 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Penna. Mrs. Greenfield is the former Wendy Sherman of Wellsboro, PA."
January 17, 1974 - "Mrs. Wendy Greenfield and son, John Mark Greenfield, of Sayre, Penna., spent several days last week visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reid Sherman, while her husband, Stephen Greenfield, a Surgical Technician employed in the Orthopedic Dept. of Robert Packard Hospital, attended the Magill Symposium on Replantation held in Montreal, Canada."
September 4, 1975 - "Mr. and Mrs. Reid Sherman attended a graduation dinner and program on Aug. 28, at the Keystone Inn, Sayre, for medical technology students and histologic technique students of the Robert Packer Hospital. A certificate for the completion of the Histologic Technique Program was awarded to their daughter, Wendy Greenfield, of Sayre, by Dr. Donald Weaver, co-chairman of the Dept. of Pathology. Mrs. Greenfield is now employed at Robert Packer Hospital.".
