June 10, 2004 - Norma D. Walkley, a retired schoolteacher, died Monday in Maplewood Nursing Home in Webster after a long illness. She was 91.
Born NOrma D. Eiseman in Poughkeepsie, Mrs. Walkley graduated from Houghton College and earned a master's degree in elementary education from Geneseo State College. She primarily taught the fifth grade in the Perry Central School District for many years before retiring.
A parishioner of Brick Presbyterian Church of Perry, Mrs. Walkley was also the a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association and enjoyed gardening. playing the piano and bowling.
Her first husband, Kermit A. Davis, died in 1944. Her second husband, Fred R. Walkley died in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Katherine I. "Bonnie" Kane of West Henrietta; threee stepchildren, Frank of Gainesville, Glen Trembeth of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Betty Quern of Middleport; 13 grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today in Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, 98 N. Main St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Castile.".
