June 2, 1944 "20 Years Ago" column - "Benjamin F. Sheldon sold his 80 acre farm west of Orion to Paul Oren, a Detroit attorney, who will take possession about July 1st. The farm has a small private lake and was taken up from the government by the Sheldon family."

June 9, 1944 "20 Years Ago" column - "Benjamin Sheldon, who recently sold his farm west of Orion, has decided to move to Orion instead of Oxford and has purchased from the administrator the home of the late John Elderkin on Shadbolt street. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon expect to take possession about the 20th of this month. Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Bentley and family, who are now occupying the property, will move to the Farrington farm, a mile south of Oxford."

December 29, 1950 "40 Years Ago" column - "Talk about heavy pork, George Crawford dressed a hog weighing 488 pounds and Ben Sheldon one weighing 417 pounds. The hogs were both dressed and sold to Pulver at 10 cents a pound, netting the sellers nearly $50.00 each. They were some pigs"

February 22, 1935 "41 Years Ago" column - "Mr. and Mrs. Ben Sheldon celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary Wednesday. A large number of their friends were present, who testified to their esteem for their host and hostess by presenting them with a number of useful and elegant presents."

March 1, 1935 - "A very pleasant surprise was given Mr. and Mrs. Banjamin Sheldon last Saturday evening, the occasion being the 46th anniversary of their marriage. The evening was spent in visiting and playing games, following which was a lovely buffet luncheon was served at midnigh
Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Orra Hammond, Mr. and Mrs. Orra Crego, Miss Helen Orr, William B. McAlon and Miss Nettie Mae Gates, of Detroit; Miss Minnie Casamer and Mrs. Julia Hammond, Lake Orion.
Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon have lived in this vicinity all their lives and we wish them many happy returns of their anniversary."

June 8, 1951 "Ten Years Ago" column - "Benjamin F. Sheldon, a life long resident of this place, died at 10:40 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 1941, at his home here from infirmities incident of his advanced years. He was 84 years old and had been ill about two weeks.
