September 12, 1962 - "Daniel W. Kessler, 79, retired chief of the Building Stone Section of the National Bureau of Standards, died Sunday at Doctors Hospital after a long illness. He lived at 2031 Rosemont ave. nw.
He joined the Weather Bureau in 1912 and transferred to the Bureau of Standards several years later. While at the bureau, he invented machines and laboratory equipment for testing building materials.
He is survived by his wife, Lotta Logan Kessler; two daughters, Virginia Weise, of 5447 Alta Vista rd., Bethesda, and Louise Clark of Roanoke, and a son, Edwin, who lives in California.".
