May 21, 1945 - "Clare L. Edsill, electricians mate second class, left Saturday for Navy pier, Chicago, where he will assume a new assignment after spending a six-day leave here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Edsill, 125 Linwood street. Edsill was recently graduated from advanced electrician's school at Williamsburg, Va. He was accompanied here by his wife, Elner, who will remain in Waterloo and reside with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.. E.C. Chamberlain, 122 Rosebud avenue."
September 10, 1947 - "Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Edsill, 125 Linwood avenue, received word of the birth of a baby daughter to their son and daughter-in-law, Electrician's Mate First Class and Mrs. C.L. Edsill, at San Diego, Cal., Sept. 8. Mrs Edsill is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Chamberlain, 122 Rosebud avenue, who have gone to San Diego to visit them."
January 22, 1959 - "C.L. Edsill has returned to Waterloo to be with his wife and three daughters, 1835 Patton avenue, after receiving his discharge from the navy at Norfolk, Va. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd M. Edsill, 125 Linwood avenue. Discharged with the rating of electrician's mate first class. Edsill had enlisted in the navy in August, 1940. He arrived in Waterloo Thursday.".
