December 9, 1948 - "Lloyd Edsill, seaman, USN, son of Harry Edsill of this city, is serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Boxer, which participated in the Pacific Fleet exercises held off the West Coast.
The three-week operation included units of the Sixth Army and of the Fourth Air Force. A main objective of the exercises was to demonstrate what personnel in the Fleet could do with equipment and procedures available and to coordinate the three armed services in a defensive, aggressive team."

December 11, 1952 - "Lloyd Edsill, S.N., who is stationed aboard the USS Cora Sea in the Norfolk, Va. harbor arrived home Tuesday of last week. He was called by the serious illness of father, Harry Edsill, whose death occurred Sunday.".
