"Amy (Amie) Fay Stone, daughter of Amy Fay's sister, Katherine Marie (Fay), and of William Eben Stone, was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on July 13, 1888. She was a special student at Radcliffe College in 1908-1911. AFS began her career as an actress at the Castle Square Stock Company in Cambridge, using the stage name of Anne Faystone. She travelled with Minnie Maddern Fiske's company and later with John Drew and other contemporary stars. Although her father did not consider the stage respectable, her earnings from the theatre were supplemented with an allowance from her family throughout the early years and on and off throughout her life.
In 1915, she met John D. Williams, a producer and director; her friend and lover for years, he introduced her to the literary and fashionable society of New York. Her efforts to establish herself as an actress were interrupted by bouts of tuberculosis in 1916 and again in 1925. Amy Fay Stone died at Fisher's Island, New York, on July 13, 1953.
The Stone-Jackson Family Papers, 1819-1954, at the Massachuestts Historical Society report Amy was born in 1884 while the Fay papers report 1888.

"William Eben Stone (1845-1921), the son of Ebenezer (b.1797) and Elizabeth Holbrook Hawes Stone (1809-1860), graduated from Brown University in 1866 and received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1868. He served as the treasurer of the Champion Iron Co. of Michigan in Boston from 1882-1903 and had homes in Cambridge, Mass. and Fisher's Island, N.Y.
Stone married Katharine Marie Fay (1849-1928), the daughter of Charles Fay, in 1871. They had four children: Pauline Fay Stone Jackson (1874-1961), Reginald Stone (1877-1892), Amy Fay Stone (b. 1884), and Margaret Herrad Stone Wright (b. 1886).

November 16, 1888 - "Death of a Venerable Episcopal Minister.
The Rev. Dr. Charles Fay, some time a resident of this city, died at the house of Mrs. M.F. Peirce, No 7 East Thirty-first street, New York, the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 6, 1888. He was buried in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass, upon the Friday following.
Dr. Fay was born in Cambridge July 21, 1808, and was therefore in his 81st year. He was the son of the Hon. S.P.P. Fay and his wife, Harriet Howard Fay. He was graduated at Harvard - as were his father, grandfather and great-grandfather - in the celebrated class of 1829, of which he was the valedictorian. Among his classmates were the Rev. James Freeman Clarke, Dr. Oliver Wendal Holmes, Prof. Benjamin Peirce, the Rev. Charles F. Smith, the Rev. Samuel May, William Gray, and other noted men, and was the fiftieth of his class to depart this life. Twelve survive, several of whom were present at his funeral. He was married twice; his first wife was a daughter of the Rt. Rev. J.H. Hopkins, Bishop of Vermont, and his second, who survives him, is a daughter of the Hon. Samuel Adams of Grand Isle. "Samuel Phillips Prescott Fay, son of Jonathan Fay, of Concord, was born in that own January 10, 1778, and graduated at Harvard in 1803, in the class with John Farrar, James Savage and Samuel Willard. He was admitted to the Middlesex bar in 1803 and first settled at Cambridgeport. He was a councilor in 1818-19, member of the Constitutional Convention of 1820, and an overseer of Harvard College from 1825 to 1852. On the 12th of May, 1821, he was appointed judge of Probate and afterwards lived in old Cambridge until his death, May 18, 1856."

May 20, 1856 - "DEATH OF JUDGE FAY. The venerable Hon. Samuel Phillips Prescott Fay, of Cambridge, died in that city on Sunday last. The deceased was Judge of Probate for Middlesex County for a long term of years, and was a man universally respected and esteemed. He was the disciple of Dr. William E. Channing, Judge Story, Rev. Dr. Tuckerman, and other noted men, having graduated at Harvard in 1798. His age was 78.".
